Geez. Where does the time go? I planned on doing a blog post a few days ago . . . sigh. Better late than never, right?
Saturday I did head to the antique show in Lakeside, OH. It's a nice show but loaded with jewelry dealers and others with booths full of glassware. Neither much my style. I did buy a couple 48 star flags to add to my crocks, a few skeleton keys (hope to make some necklaces) and a Christmas gift. There were things I would have loved to bring home, but not at prices I was willing to pay.
Lakeside Chautauqua is pretty much a summer community, sitting on the shore of Lake Erie. Some of the cottages are just too stinkin' cute.
Granddog Kali went home on Sunday. Overall she was a good girl :)
Ernestine has settled in nicely and is already family and the perfect little girl. I picked her up only 2 1/2 weeks ago but it seems like we've had her forever. (Technically she is DSO's dog.) If you are considering getting a pet, please, please, please consider a rescue animal. Most rescue animals are loving creatures just looking for a place to call home. They are in rescue through no fault of their own. If you think only old, sickly animals end up in rescue, you are wrong. Ernestine came to rescue because one of her humans died and the other was going to a nursing home. Remember adopt, don't shop. Animals purchased at pet stores and through many ads in the newspaper and online are bred in horrific conditions at puppy mills. If you don't believe me, do a Google search of puppy mills. It will break your heart.
How could you not fall in love with this face?
I still have lots more rugs to post from Sauder. Hopefully soon.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

I have no idea why I have this huge space at the end of this post and it will not let me delete it. ARGH :(

Just went to edit and now it let me delete the wasted space. Blogger can be so frustrating at times :(

You certainly have a couple of beauties there.
I love all animals but my rescues are absolutely the most faithful babies in the world. Thank you for sharing with us.
Such an adorable face. I bet DSO is smitten:)
Totally agree with you about adopting a pup. I LOVE my boy Ben, an adopted Rottie adopted by me when he was 3 yrs. 7 mos. He is now just a little over 9 years and laying by my side. He adores me and other humans and dogs.
such a cute face! both of them.
I haven't shopped much for antiques or wool which I should never buy another piece

Our next dog will be a rescue. Ernestine looks so happy in her forever home now. Janice
I enjoyed your last post with all the gorgeous rugs. So happy that Ernestine is settling in well! We adopted our Mia when she was a kitten. She was the last of a litter that was being given away. And of course, we love her!
Looks like a fun town to visit while you shop. I was not aware of how puppy mills work and thought I was buying from a good pet store, but, when I looked at the names on the papers and looked online, found out that the place they got him from was a puppy mill and warehouse for unwanted dogs, they just take them and ship them to stores. Here there are not many good adoption places and when dogs come in, they go fast, which is good.

I saw this free pugs in sweaters coloring page and thought you might enjoy it.
Good morning! Seeing Ernestine smile makes me smile. Both of our dogs were on the "re-home" list. Right now hubby is the favorite, but as long as the puppies are happy, I'm good. LOL
She is a perfect little girl and I love her face! So glad you had a nice weekend. What perfect little houses.
Have a lovely day.
I AGREE...about puppy mills. Sooo Sad, breaks my heart. Our daughter, Pam fosters Pomeranians. We adopted Rusty and it was the best thing we could have done to help Papa overcome the loss of Kody bear, our Alaskan Malamute. Rusty is Papa'S shadow and is more than wonderful. Ernestine is beautiful, I just want to reach in and hug her. Once we get resettled, I may go looking for MY PUPPY.
Ernestine is a cute little girl and I can tell, she feels at home at your place. All my cats and dogs were rescues and they were loved like my own kids.
I just love that first cottage. So neat and tidy.
I'm getting so behind in commenting on everyone's posts. I work till it's bed time. i hope it slows down soon.
