Ready or Not ~

~ and if I don't get busy, I won't be ready . . . sigh.  I leave for the hooking retreat at Lakeside, OH, on Thursday.  I work tomorrow and plan to work a half day Thursday.  Have I started to pack?  Have I picked out my wool?  I think you know the answers to that.  At least I've picked my pattern.  That's a start, though not a very good one.

A Spruce Ridge Studio pattern
adapted from the folk art of Lori Brechlin

I did dye some of the funky green wool that Saundra shared on her blog.  It's darker in person.  I don't measure too accurately and I didn't quite follow her directions, but I think it came out pretty good.  I plan to copy her and use it for the background between the cat and the swags.

Today was another hook in, this one put on by the Lorain County Hookcrafters.  It was a beautiful day and what better way to spend the day than with a roomful of hookers?  Once again I was a vendor and had a pretty good day :)  I was lucky and won a door prize . . .

. . . and this great bunch of wool and paisley (yippee) in the Chinese raffle.

Look at this fun needle felted pug I purchased.  Isn't she great?

I even had time to hook another green pumpkin :)  Now, if I'd just take the time to finish them.

I will share some rugs from the show in my next post.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

I finished packing my luggage at 10:45 last night and took a shower before bed at 11:00pm, and was up at 4:00 this morning to get ready for my flight. I can be a last minute girl too although I like to be ready in plenty of time but sometimes there're just too much to do...

I'm glad you did well on this hook-in.
Nice winning and cute little pug.

Hugs,
JB

There is no greater flattery than being copied. SO HAPPY you thought my green wool background worthy of copying!!!!

Delightful wins and purchases and looking forward to your rug update.

Sounds like a fun hook-in. We've had rain for two days straight now, but I'm certainly not complaining considering the drought that has been plaguing us the last few years. Made the house nice & cozy & I got a lot of sewing done (no hooking). It's been ages since I did any dyeing - great green color you did!
