I hate, despise, really dislike the time change! Is our government finally going to abolish it? I haven't read anything about it in ages. The early darkness is just depressing. The only thing I wish is that we could gain an hour of sleep every week 😁 (but not need to change the clocks!).
Halloween is being boxed and hauled back to the attic. (Have I ever mentioned that an attic is both a blessing and a curse?) Turkeys will be brought down, but thankfully I don't have nearly as many turkeys as I do Jack-o-Lanterns.
I am living in more chaos than usual. Halloween totes everywhere. A pile in the living room that will be taken to the show next weekend. Still a few items to price and of course trying to make a few things. One just never knows what will sell. I found a great old skinning board that I thought would be perfect for a primitive tree. I like the added piece at the bottom, but I think that is actually the backside.

I am looking for an antique cupboard of sorts to turn in to a bathroom vanity. I only have a 36" space to work with which makes it difficult. I went to a Christmas open house at one of the best antique malls in northern Ohio. No luck there, but did find this slightly wonky 2 gallon crock for my stairs . . .
. . . and these hearts that came from an antique welcome mat.
On Saturday I headed to one of the primitive antique shows featuring premier dealers. (There was another one about another half hours' drive that I decided to skip.) My house is antique filled but I do not consider it primitive. You know the "grungy" primitive that is so popular now and crazy expensive. No luck finding my "vanity" there either, but I did get a couple coverlet pieces and a tiny glass Santa ornament.
So many wonderful ethnic costumes.

It is already beginning to get dark here at 4:45 !!! I don't like the time change either , and our dog will be even more confused !
You scored a super treasure ...that Heart matt !!! I have one like that & Love it , Would love to find the entire matt , but those are way, way out of my price range . You got neat pieces. Your hooked tree will be perfect on that neat old board & the bottom of it is neat with the added piece of wood !
You are lucky to have so many places to find old things . There just aren't many nice shops anymore . I always get inspired seeing nice old pieces.

Oh yes, I agree, hate getting dark early but I sure did enjoy that 1 hour extra of sleep!! It must be exhausting trekking to shops for antiques you want and also checking out shops hoping you don't see anything you want. I've been there and glad I'm too old to want to do that now.
Your primitive tree turned out fantastic, you didn't mention how big it was. Guess that was your 'plus one'.
Argh! You're living my best life!!! (Well, except for selling treasures that should be kept. ;-) ) Love your new "wonky" crock!! And your hooked tree for the stretcher board is awesome. Please tell me you're keeping that and didn't make it to sell.
PS...So sorry you aren't loving the time change.... NOT! ;-) You know I love it. (And, yes, there was talk of "ending" it, but I think the admin was confused about what exactly they were ending...changing or not changing...and then decided that it was mostly a "50/50" issue so would leave things along.) I am finally a bit back more in my comfort zone and can pretend I get to stay up an hour later than even normal (without being considered totally sick) AND sleep in an extra hour every morning. Life is good. ;-)
I despise the time change as well. My body is too old for this. My one friend up here does the Simple Goods show. She makes lots of money, but yes only the elite vendors can get into that one. We dont do shows anymore so it dont matter much to me. I do not even attend any shows nowadays, although I do miss all of my friends that did them too. Love your tree and it will fit perfect on that skinning board. Janice

OMG!!!! I can't believe it! Did you happen to be at the Seville antique store Friday?? I was in line just 2 people behind you! I saw you walking around with those hearts....you snatched them up so fast! 😜 I wanted to show my husband, and I turned around, they were in your hands!!! (They were great, glad for you!) I wish I had known that was you, I would have loved to say hello! It's a small world for sure!
I’m not a fan of the “fall back”time change either. I’d like to see it stay at DST year round now that I’m in the age bracket that can’t see at night to drive. I wish we citizens had more traction to get it changed. I’m missing the reason why our state politicians at least, can’t make the change. Wait….never mind 🙄 My Halloween is put away and I have some cross stitches and turkeys out. I enjoy the fall through Christmas decorations. You found some great new treasures!
I'm glad I live in Arizona where we don't do the time change. If they ever decide to stop I hope they use Arizona as the basis for the time in the other zones.
