I have a terrible time hooking faces and/or eyes. Saundra hooked that wonderful Mother face . . .
. . . and I've struggled with this darn primitive Santa face. After tweaking it four times, I declared it done. So I added the glue to the back and took a good look. Santa has quite the honker, don't you think, but after the glue treatment, it was too late to tweak once again, so he is D.O.N.E. Oh well, oh hell 😁
Overall Santa is 13 1/2" tall and the pelt board is 20 3/4" tall.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

I'm still laughing. My husband has a big honker as well but he doesn't wear a Santa suit. lol...
I think it gives him character.
Hugs, Julia
Saundra did an amazing job and she kept at it till it was perfect. Her sienna mother rug is wonderful.

Sandra did an amazing job on her mother's rug. But I still like his nose!

Somebody called me a smartass. And that old saying goes, if the shoe fits, wear it. Call him a gnome santa. I've got four of those boards, and keep saying to myself I'm gonna hook something and attach it to those boards. But nope, I've had them for about 15 years now.
Santa looks fine ....LOL He is nice & primitive !!!
Saundra has done an amazing job hooking her Mother . I would be afraid to ever attempt doing a persons face & in the sepia colors !
Lauren's Santa obviously had a cold, he is doing his job in the winter ya know, lol. Besides I know that if she hadn't put glue on the back she'd be frogging a couple loops ~ and that's all it would have taken. Santa looks handsome to me Lauren.
BTW, thanks everyone for all the compliments on Mother.
Oh no not another one critiquing their work. You and Saundra did fine on your hooked pieces. Santa is primitive so he is perfectly fine. Probably better than I could do. LOL Janice
The reindeer have kicked him in the nose too many times?
Tripped over the mess in the toy shop too often?
He needs a big nose to warm up all that freezing cold North Pole air?
I think he looks fine. He obviously hasn't *yet* been to the plastic surgeon for a nose job in current advertising versions.
Doesn't the thickness of the wool makes a huge difference in how much detail can be done? If you went too small, would it clash with the chunky primitive look of the rest?
I think Ol' Nick looks just dapper... He reminds me of the old world belsnickle santas. But I get the face phobia thing well...and Saundra's renderings are way outta my league. ~Robin~
