Thanks to all for the suggestions for Pumpkin Man's stem. It was suggested to be darker ~ and twisty. I am much happier and can live with this. (Of course color still is not great 😢)
I have been on a wait list for months for a class this Thursday and Friday with Caroline Twigg. I did not anticipate getting in but yesterday got word there was a last minute cancellation. Thankfully another hooker from northern Ohio is going, so I can hitch a ride with her (though DSO must take me to meet her VERY early in the morning). My Molly sitter was available, too, so I guess it was meant to be. Of course I always wait until the last minute before a class to pack, but usually decide on a pattern more than three days ahead. I went to my pattern stash and nothing said "pick me!" and no time to decide on one and put it on linen. I will choose one of Caroline's patterns when I get there, but it does make it hard knowing what wools to take along.
I had a follow up appointment with the orthopedic doctor this morning. He said for someone "my age" I am healing well. That was good to hear but another three weeks in this darn boot. He did say I could carefully ease in to driving, so next week I will give it a try.

Congrats on getting in the class and can't wait to see what you decide. I'd like for the clocks to go back about 30 years, lol.
Pumpkin man looks great. Glad you're healing well and can drive soon. I'd be dead by now because they don't deliver groceries to Nod....or wine. Have fun at your class you lucky thang. Can't wait to see what pattern you decide on. ~Robin~
PS...You can do "Coverlet Bird" (I think that's hers?)....cuz I have always wanted to do it and then I can copy your color plan. No shame here. ~et~
I'm glad your old lady foot is healing. Have fun at class. I'll be waiting to see which pattern you pick.
I agree the stem is less prominent with the darker color. Mr. Pumpkin-man must be really proud of himself now, that everyone agrees with how he should look.
I'm glad for you that you can ease into driving again. Give us a picture of your boot before it becomes history.
Yay for finding someone to go to the class with. Hope you have tons of fun.
Hugs,
Julia
Why do they always have to throw "for your age" in there grrrr
Have a wonderful time in the class. Can't wait to see what you choose.
I do like your pumpkin guy glad you are happy with it that is what matters
Cathy
Glad Mr Pumpkin man makes you happy, unlike someone else I know who is not liking Mary Comstock...and we know who that is. :-) Have fun hooking at your class. So glad everything was set in motion for you to go. It was really meant to be. Hope your foot heals soon and I agree with Cathy, why do they have to bring the age thing in. Janice
Yes pumpkin has great personality. He looks good. Have a very good time at this class. And patience with the healing
Catching up on posts and this Pumpkin Man is fantastic. I love him. Good call on the stem, I like the darker wool.
Great that you got in to that class and better yet, a ride! My friend is in a metal boot after an ankle break needing 7 screws. Right foot, she's driving. No idea how. Be careful but have fun!
Enjoy your class...can’t wait what to see what pattern you choose!
Love your Pumpkin with his new stem !!!
When I could finally drive , I would put that damn boot back on before I got out of the car ....I didn't drive far , but felt Wonderful to Get Out again !!! And that age comment !!!UGH !!!! The best part was Throwing Away that Damn Boot !!!!I really wanted to Burn it !!!
Have a great time at the hook in and find a wonderful pattern that gets you excited !!!
