Ole Jack, was started at rug camp in September in a class with Cathy Stephan. It is her version of the antique and I chose to hook her smaller version (28" x 39"), which in my book is not small. It is so outside my hooking comfort zone, but I think this is going to be one of my all-time favorite rugs. I was so close to finishing but had not pulled a loop in at least six or seven weeks.
It is finally back on the frame (alternating time with Granny). The top border is almost done. (Neither picture accurately depicts the true colors of the rug . . . ugh!)
I have also finished hooking hearts and sewing them in to little pillows. I am so bad at "finishing" things, I can't believe I got them all done.
It is so ironic. How many Kims do you know? Well, three of nine pillows went to a Kim(m). Kimm, who won the give-away. Kim, an Ohio friend. And Kim my pug sitter. I am out of the heart business for 2022 😁
We have had such a mild winter . . . but that ended a week ago. More snow yet again today. Molly hates winter even more than I do.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Love the nice soft colors you are using in the pretty Horse rug ....looks so nice & prim. Happy to hear you are enjoying pulling loops again !
Funny how you meet people with the same name all at once ....
We are above freezing finally , a dusting of snow tomorrow and then cold again ....a gardner posted only 55 days til Spring ! Hard to believe though ....and we haven't had much snow yet ....I probably just jinxed myself !
Your three hearts in the basket are deliciously beautiful. The basket is the perfect container for them. I so love the three colors.
How about that, 3 lucky Kims!
Your horse rug looks amazing, almost done. Even though we don't have a lot of snow yet, more is on the way this week.
Take care, spring is getting closer with every passing day.
Hugs,
Julia
Think I'm going to change my name to Kim(m) LOL. You know I love, love, love those hearts. (And don't get me started about being bad at "finishing"....) And Ole Jack takes my breath away. It is absolutely stunning. I forgot about the dark background in the border - it really makes the entire rug pop and ties with Jack himself perfectly. I think Cathy would give you an overachiever award. ❤️ ~Robin~
I agree with Robin that the black at the very edge defines and makes the circles and rug pop. That was a rather big rug for you and frankly for me now ~ I've done larger but decided not to do big rugs....until.....
You do a wonderful job of finishing your hearts as I've been a recipient in the past and think your finish is far better than what I've tried in the past.
I love your horse rug it is always so nice when we love what we are working on.
I do not have one kim in my life you must have them all lol.
Cathy
I graduated high school in ‘88 and there were many many Kims in my class! Hence I became Kimm. Your hearts are beautiful and Ole Jack is splendid! Very nicely done.
Wow.. maybe I should change my name to Kim. LOL Always love your hearts. Also am loving your rug. I was perusing Pinterest lately on antique rugs, but I need to finish my big one soon. Maybe after Easter I may take up my hook again before starting Halloween. Cannot wait to see more progress on granny.Janice
OH, HE IS WONDERFUL; I JUST LOVE HIM! HE MAY BE OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE BUT YOU ARE DOING A WONDERFUL JOB AND I LOVE ALL THE COLORS! AND CONGRATS ON FINISHING YOUR HEARTS; THEY ARE DARLING TOO!
Love your hearts kin a basket. Didn’t realize you stuffed them, but I like that!! I agree with Molly re the snow. Thank goodness our little flurries melted as soon as they hit the ground. Have a great week.
Haha that is funny, even I don't know that many Kim's. That is really interesting so many of those hearts went to someone named Kim.
Your basket of hearts is so cute. I am amazed how you finish them. Finishing them is always hard for me. I guess that is why I have so many unfinished counted cross stitches laying around.
I love Jack!! That is really a cute pattern. I can see why it could be your favorite. It is really a nice rug.
Looks amazing !
Ole Jack is wonderful and that size sounds perfect. You did an excellent finish job on those hearts and pretty quick! We won't get rid of the snow walls in the parking lots until July. At home, we have about two feet, way too cold next week to start melting.
