Happy Mother's Day to one and all ~ whether you have two legged or four legged kids. Weather In Ohio is more like early March today. Lots of rain . . . and just a little south and also a little to the east of us that "S" word. Good excuse not to be doing yard work 😁
I have made some progress on Madi's Favorite, but of course not as much as I would like. I am a master at frittering away the day and not accomplishing what I would like to. Oh, the joys of retirement.
I like the rug, but I am not loving it. I like the colors, but they are not "me". The corners are drawn pretty wonky and I will need to adjust that one on the right. The circles are not in the same location in each corner. I wish I had noticed that earlier. I know, I can be (just a bit) anal at times. Normally I would make the "clamshell" part of each corner identical, but it was not drawn that way, either. I just have a hard time with wonky, but there is no turning back.

Oh that retro ad is hilarious. OH GOSH, it made me laugh. Love the Pug Poem, too. My pets made my Mother's Day happy. Just seeing them and their love brightened the day. I think when your rug is finished it will look very good!
OMG woman. Those corners are a Magdalena Briner Eby adaptation added to the design. Have you never seen any of HER rugs or adaptations I've hooked where the swags had an uneven sweep at the corner? They are supposed to be wider at one side to the other. Me thinks your next step is fine narrow cut hooking, lol.

Ok...this is an easy one.
Comolete the hooking on the entire rug before making any adjustments.
Steam but do not bind...
You may find it really doesnt matter at that point...
However, if you do simply adjust the corner by taking away a few of the red or green strips, not many and hook in background.
Or, you can simply take out some of the background on the other one and add a strip or two and bring them in closer union...
Doing the same to all four corners.
Now...another option is to pull out the light background and over dye all the strips with something like the old ecru formula from the TODD books. Not much...1/32 tsp each of champagne, ecru and old ivory. This will keep you in a light bkgrnd and not draw significant attention to the corners.
It happens to everyone and if someone really doesnt like that in your rug...dont invite them over. Simple!
These things make it easier to put them on the floor to enjoy.

Your hooking technique is flawless.
Dont let something simple like an uneveness in the corners stop you.
Happy Mother's Day
It was a nice day yesterday. I like your rug and I never mind wonkey. we are overcast and drizzle today I hope it clears up some I wanted to get some flowers in.

The picture of the puppy at the top of your post is just adorable! I love the little tongue sticking out!
I also am loving your Madi’s Favorite rug. Beautiful colors and the wonkiness does not bother me. I’m not sure what that has to say about me, however. Normally, I’m OCD, so this has me somewhat confused. But whatever, I love it!
I love your rug ..... I hope you had a great Mother’s Day even with our rotten weather.
The Pug poem related to Samoyed's too! Too funny and true. Hope you had a wonderful Mother's Day! My sister, brother and I actually took my mom out for lunch that day. It was nice to finally be all together after covid hit. Janice
HAPPY BELATED MOTHER'S DAY dear Lauren. I hope you had a great day. Spring is always a busy time of the year. I'm lagging behind again but I always come around for a visit sooner or later. For some reason, my life has become busier than ever. I'm hoping to make a blog post soon if I can find the time.
I like the wonkiness of the rug. It makes it look more primitive I guess. I love children's art as they don't fuss about getting everything balanced. I love the innocence of it and think they make great rugs.
Have a great week.
Hugs,
Julia
I like your rug! I can be a bit fussy, but this pattern is just perfect. Smile. I understand the no turning back. I am working on a cross stitch that has too many greens that are too close in shade. I am very unhappy that my leaves are not showing up as I would like...but...it's too late to turn back. LOL When I was growing up, I belonged to a blended family of eight kids. Never knew what name you'd be on any day. LOL
I think the colors are perfect, very prim with nice contrast.
