Back to Reality ~

Another hooking retreat in Millersburg is just a fond memory.  Lots of laughs, hooking and quality time spent with like minded friends.  And did I mention cheesecake?  We always have cheesecake.  (Thanks Lynn!  And to her hubby Jim who buys it for us 😋)  Yummy cheesecake.  This time we had to choose between chocolate, strawberry, and kiwi lime.  Since there were only ten of us . . . we were able to indulge all three days.

So many amazing rugs were being hooked!  (For once, I remembered to take pictures.)

Lynn finished her hit and miss she designed.

Got the binding done on a rug based on an old applique pattern.

Then started and got so much hooked on this pattern from Woolen Memories.

Lee finished the hooking on this sweet design based on a child's drawing.  She will needle felt the kitty and make it in to a pillow for the child.

She was also meeting her son and daughter-in-law while in Millersburg.  She hooked this rug for them from a picture of them at Halloween in 2007.  Isn't is a fun rug?

Vicki was hooking Susy's Chickens and hooked all this in 2 1/2 days.  She is a speed hooker.

Carole is working on a long runner she designed.

Tammy is off to a good start on Warm Friendship, an antique adaptation.  Her version is HUGE.

Julie is on the home stretch of Lancaster Scallops.

Tanya is hooking an antique adaptation.  In person the colors are stunning . . . rich and much darker.

Lonna is so close to finishing Coverlet Bird, started last summer in a class with Caroline Twigg.

Peter Cottontail was hooked . . . start to finish . . . at the retreat by Melissa.  Isn't he sweet?  Pattern is available from the Wool'n Gardener.

Here is my start on the hit and miss.  I was surprised to get 10 squares done.  30 more to go!  This may take a while.  I was getting a little bored and I definitely overthink the worm choice 😁

Dancing Bunnies, an antique adaptation, is off to a good start.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Good grief woman, you've got a lot of happy looking rugs in progress. Hit and miss isn't as easy as I was led to believe...will grab a piece of wool to check the value and color to be sure there wasn't either which is already hooked in the space beside it. So it goes back in the bag and draw again.
Love all the wonderful projects and of course everything that Tanya woman touches turns out gorgeous!!!!

I'm so glad that you took some photos. The hooking party is all over but at least, you got to go and have fun for the weekend. You got an enormous amount of hooking done. There are some gorgeous rugs being hooked. I hope that it reenergized you for a little while at least... You had time for cheesecake and maybe a little wine?

Thanks for sharing.
Hugs, Julia

Glad you had fun! Your rugs are always amazing, but gosh so were everyone's at the retreat. Especially love that coverlet quilt. The those Autumn colors. WOW! BTW, hubby and I are planning on going down to Ohio for some antiquing. Was wondering if you could give me the name of that wool shop you visit. I want to purchase more when we come down in May. Thanks! Janice

Those Dancing Bunnies have been on my TO HOOK list for years and am envious of your progress. Maybe I'll need to upgrade the list after my next project is done first.

Cheesecake....sigh. I sometimes buy them and treat myself to a piece each and every night. Bad habit, but not as bad as most I have. it just me or do others think you girls spent a little too much time hooking and not enough "funning"??? That's a HECK of a lot of hooking. I hesitate to comment on anyone's as everyone's are beautiful and do not wish to wish to offend unintentionally by non-inclusion. But I will say that Lynn is one prolific hooker Yikes! (hers were the first rugs you posted, right? I don't want to "go back" to see photos and start all over....wish Blogger would change that). And Lee's (?) rendition of the child's drawing is particularly endearing. I would love to see it finished after she completes the felting. You're cruising girl...and OCD perfectly as always. Love the wools you chose for the dancing bunnies. ~Robin~ (PS....welcome home!)

I am so glad you got to have a hooking retreat with your friends. The rugs are lovely. Any day with cheesecake is great but I have never had a single flavor that you mentioned. I am so glad you are home. I am glad it was a nice getaway.
