DSO Frank (affectionately know as Fritz) has been hard at work for over a year on his 1935 Ford truck he is building from a kit.
A major milestone was reached this past week when he took it to be inspected to make sure it was legal to drive. They checked lights, brakes, directionals, etc. to be sure everything worked properly. I am happy to say (and he is even happier) he passed with flying colors. Because of passing the inspection, he was able to get it titled and apply for his license plate.
He is now legal to drive π I went for a quick test drive months ago . . . when it didn't even have a windshield. This time the ride was much more comfortable with windows . . . and a heater that works well. However, the car is L.O.U.D. I guess it's a guy thing!
He even has vintage dice hanging from the rear view mirror.
There is much more work to do. Once he is certain everything is working as it should, he will have to disassemble it in order to paint it. The goal is to drive it to Massachusetts in June when the company that manufactures the kits is having their 25th anniversary celebration (which is actually year 26 due to last year's Covid cancellation).
Numbers 5, 8 and 10 are especially true with Miss Molly.
I don't bite . . . unless it's called for. Audrey Hepburn
Started to clean my closest . . . that created a whole other mess . . . I stopped. (Isn't that the God's truth?)
Motivation . . . devotion . . . and showering . . . all recommended daily.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

That must have been one heck of a task. But then he built his own airplane didn't he?

What an amazing job Frank did on his car. I bet it's a head-turner when you drive about town in that thing. Those old cars were built to last. I hope the kit has built-in quality as well. What fun you're having, never a dull moment in your life.
I had a chuckle about the pug rules. I wonder if it applies to all pugs?
Only 14 days to spring. Yippee!!!
Hugs, Julia
The car is amazing! What a huge amount of skilled work went into that. Labor of love! The Pug Rules are also the Chiweenie Rules, especially #7. Mine sleeps sideways and does not like to be gently, gently slid over JUST A FEW INCHES while I teeter on the very edge of the bed.
Congrats to DSO on an amazing job on a huge project! Niiiice! How long did this take him total to complete?? I am really surprised Little Crow has never done that - guess he prefers to take things apart and then see how much faster he can make it go when he puts it back together. I was shocked to overhear someone who did not know me that Little Crow has the second fastest car in the area....second only to his buddy's. I think each and every one of those pug rules apply to Snowdog. Oye! ~Robin~
How Fun! Fritz is about the coolest guy on the planet!! He's so ambitious...have fun this summer!
OMG Tundra is 5 8 and 10 too! WOOHOO for Fritz. Great car! Janice
Does this replace the ill fated motorcycle. Looks a lot safer and much flashier!! Congrats to Fritz. He looks mighty proudπ
WOW !!! What a cool truck !!! What an accomplishment !!! My son has a 65 Bronco he bought when he was 16 , it is in pieces & has been for years , with 3 little girls , chances of being put together are pretty slim !
Funny Pug rules !!!
Wow! That's quite a project! Congrats on a beautiful finish! :-)
Congratulations on the completion of the truck build! Looks awesome. My husband has been working on a 39 Plymouth that he bought when he was 15. He's 71 now and it's still not finished, lol. Well, it was finished for a while and then he decided it needed disc brakes. Now it needs a new interior... it's never ending! This is why he never says anything about my rug hooking, quilting, painting, etc! Do you have a big garage/shop? That's a dream of ours, to have a nice garage with a lift. Some day! Love your Pug rules, we have a little coton de tulear and he pretty much has the same rules. He's fighting a mass on his spleen right now so he pretty much is spoiled rotten. Prognosis isn't good but for now he's doing well. Hug your Pugs for me. Jan in MA
Congrats to Frank--that's quiet an accomplishment! The drive to Mass sounds like a fun adventure
