A Token of Friendship ~

Shamrocks are not falling from the sky here in northern Ohio, but more of the white stuff.  I must admit it is very pretty, but I could do without ⛄  My son brought his BIG snowblower over the other day to do my drive and walks.  DSO would have had much difficulty with his smaller snowblower.  Thanks son πŸ’™

I am ready to begin binding Wonky Love Heart.  Hopefully I will have a finish to share soon.

I have started to hook Cammie Bruce's Peter Rabbit.

Saundra posted a hooking challenge on her blog for anyone wishing to join in.  She has chosen 6 antique/vintage rugs and will provide the line drawing to anyone wishing to participate.  We are to hook it using alternative fibers, what we have on hand as our foremothers would have done.  There is still time to join in on the fun . . . but let her know by tomorrow (Friday).  There are no rules (my kind of challenge) and it will be fun seeing all the different adaptations.  Here is the piece I will be hooking.

I finished stitching a Token of Friendship, a free pattern by Notforgotten Farm that can be found here.  I will simply turn back the linen and primitively stitch it down.  It has been too long since I have had a little give-away, so I will be gifting this to one of my blog friends.  As always, the rules are simple . . . but there are a couple.  Leave a comment on this post only or send me an email with give-away in the subject line.  Please no sharing on any social media.  I will choose the winner on February 24 and the winner must CONTACT ME within three days.  {{Sorry, my Canadian friends.  Even though this is very flat, I worry that USPS would charge me a parcel rate.}}

A page a day calendar I received at the Millersburg retreat last fall is just a pithy saying each day.  A few of my favorites so far ~

Never miss a chance to just shut up.

I came . . . I saw . . . and I forgot what I'm here for . . .

Sometimes . . . it's not about the destination . . . it's about everything that happens along the way.

Some days you need to just suck it up . . . smile . . . and be on your way . . .

And these last two are so apropos in today's world.

There is always hope .

Remember to laugh . . . it's all temporary.  (So I hope and pray!)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

You are speedy. I am stitching up a giveaway too, but am so slowwww this week! I love the Peter Rabbit pattern. He does not look enthused! What a character.

LMBO....I am loving Peter! I know you posted a photo of the pattern previously, but you have brought him to life with such personality and he makes me giggle. No snow here since Saturday (well, a light dusting overnight last night, but hardly counts). We made it above 0ΒΊ today so it was a good day. What a sweet little giveaway. I never think about finishing that way although I love the look. I guess I am stuck in the rut of pinkeeps (that is if I ever finish anything and then REALLY "finish" it). I have been meaning to do a giveaway too...it's been way too long, but I tend to "overthink" things as you know and am at a loss as to what to gift. Time to think a little harder methinks. ~Robin~

Oh I do love your rugs. Pick me, pick me!! LOL Peter is looking fine. I will drool from here. One of my favorite sayings is from the cartoon Madagascar....Smile and wave, boys, smile and wave. It is the answer to a lot of questions. LOL Stay warm and safe.

You'll have a brand new bunny companion ready to great the Easter Bunny, good for you. Cammie is such a great gal and has nice primitive patterns. Envious of you to have that bunny as a second option to hook, lol. I'm still working on my 'challenge' piece and don't dare step away from that until it is all done.

Thanks so much for posting the rug challenge. I really need to get back to hooking & I have chosen the American Flag. I have always loved that design. WE have a ton of snow too and of course, my husband's snow blower stopped working yesterday....grrrrrr. I love snow, but I've had just about enough!

I am enjoying Hooking Saundra’s challenge! It will be fun to see all the different textiles everyone uses! More snow for us too! Hoping for a warm up this weekend, but then it will be a mess.

Good luck with your Saundra Challenge. I always enjoyed the rug challenges that were put out by Sunnie Andress on Rug Hooking Daily a while back and learned so much doing these challenges and seeing everyone's different approach to these challenges.

Great choice of wool for the bunny rug. I've lost my hooking mojo but I'm finally making slow progress on the crochet pattern. The stitching is lovely.

Oh, I do love that bunny!! Cannier has the cutest patterns and you always choose the perfect wool. What a sweet give away!! Will be eager to see what you do with the tulip. Stay warm!!

Laughing out loud at these! Do I see a bunny??? Love it. Although I do not have time for Saundra's challenge, I will enjoy everyone's finishes. Looks like most chose the tattered tulip. It would have been my choice too. So glad your son was there to the rescue. We have 12 inches on the ground now. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Janice

Bill has a monster snow blower too, of course too big for me to use, so the snow stayed until he got home.
That is a fun bunny, I may just do a few table toppers, have all the supplies so should use them.

That is some serious snow! Nashville has had more snow, ice and cold temps in one week than we have had in ten years--I'm ready for spring. Peter Rabbit is looking good.

I am grateful for waking up to a day where I don’t have to shovel my driveway. Whew my back and arms still hurt from that ice, snow, ice from Monday.
Your rabbit is darling. You have a knack for color and texture.
I should stitch some of those sayings.
