Rug Week ~

It's Rug Week at Sauder Village in Archbold, Ohio, about two hours west of me.  I made my annual trek today.  Friend Linda joined me (you may know her as primdollie koch on Facebook).  Always inspirational . . . makes you want to hook and do nothing else.

One of the featured displays was of antique rugs.  Here is a sampling.

My favorite

This sign was posted throughout the antique rugs.

Thanks to all those I contacted and asked to send a card to my son for his 40th birthday.  I appreciate it more than you know.  He's received over 40 cards :)  Many are signed a "hooker friend of your mom's".  He is telling his friends that he has received more cards from hookers for his birthday than they will receive in a lifetime :)  Many more arrived after this picture was taken.

Tomorrow we are finally off on our motorcycle trip to Niagara Falls.  I hope my butt can take the journey.  I've never spent more than an hour or two on the bike and taking the scenic route along the lakeshore  will probably take us 6-7 hours.  It was my idea so I can't complain too much!

Blogger has not been playing nice tonight.  It deleted all my rug pictuers and most of my text.  I HATE when that happens.

More Sauder rugs in future posts.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Some beautiful rugs. I envy that you are only two hours away from Sauder Village.
I didn't send a card to your son but I'm glad that the hookers supported you in sending him a 40th Happy Birthday card. That means his mother is a real hooker. I wish you a fun weekend.

I think that sounds like a wonderful adventure. I am so glad you son got so many hooker cards for his birthday, that is so funny. That is awesome that there are so many there I bet he was surprised.

I love those antique rugs. I think your favorite is my favorite but I do like that General Washington rug. I have been on a American History kick this summer.
Have a blast on your trip.

I've read as much as I could find about copyrights, and understood that if someone purchases an antique, they do not own the copyright. Copyright is transferred to heirs for the remainder of the specified years when the original holder passes, not to buyers. So unless those rugs are owned by descendants of the maker, how does the museum or current owner hold the rights? It is so confusing.

Have a SAFE trip. Take a little pillow.

Safe travels!

Yes I’ve read that a design is free for copy 70 years
after the death of the designer. If a rug is from
1920 or before you can pretty much guarantee
you are legally allowed.

I'm playing catch up again so -- loved seeing your trip to visit your son in Vegas! Love all the beautiful rugs -- sigh. I do hope that you enjoy your motor cycle trip to Niagara Falls. Did I ever mention that I told my kids they can't ride motorcycles? lol! Not that that would stop them. My DD rode on the back of a motorcycle with a friend just recently for the first time! Anyway, have fun!

Now rug cleaning has become one of the services offered by many companies because people today tend to get more busy and don’t have time to face this simple things. Your blogs about it author was really good!
