Aren't these THE BEST rosehips? They are from rose bushes growing between Bob Evans and Five Guys (my favorite place to eat). I thought the bushes needed trimming . . . grin. I hope Bob didn't mind :)
Last weekend I went to play for a few hours. Here is one of my new/old treasures. I just love the old papier mache jacks even though this guy looks a bit evil. This one still has it's original paper insert. I've added two to my collection this year.
I finished hooking this Humble Rugs mat . . .
. . . and have moved on to the very popular snow guy from the latest issue of Primitive Quilts and Projects. He will be a gift, so I'm hooking him in a more snowman-like color, and only hooking the main area of the design. I don't think the recipient would appreciate the colors of the original.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

Oh how fun Lauren! Love the rose hips and I love five guys!! The rug is beautiful and the snowman rug is so cute! I don't have that magazine guess it's another one I'll have to look for.
ReplyDeleteThose rose hips are HUGE!! I don't seem them around here...maybe 'cuz roses grow only so sporadically here...?? And look at your amazing vintage Halloween collection!! You have more noisemakers than I do GF!! (Wanna share??) And I'm thinking just as many papier mache jacks....I'll have to count...Haven't added many to my collection recently cuz they have just gotten crazy pricey. Still on the hunt for one of the black cats....that I don't have to trade my first/only born for..... Sweet rug too....You speed hooker you. Hmmmm... you now have me curious about the "original" snowman pattern. I haven't seen it yet.... Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteBeautiful rose hips; perfect for the season. Nice finish on the mat, very nice. Cute snowman gift. I had to go see the original so I googled the magazine. I have to agree with you statement...not sure i care for a coal snowman. That is some dirty snow. :)

ReplyDeleteWow girl, you've been in a hooking frenzy.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous collection of vintage Jacks you have. When I wanted to start collecting them the prices were out of my price range. Lucky finds for you over the years.

I think that those big rose hips needed to come out of the cold and into your warm house. Great festive look about them.
ReplyDeleteWow you have accumulated quite a nice collection of papier mache jack o lanterns over the years. I haven't put out any Halloween decorations this year, i've been that busy. Maybe next year, I'll have less on my plate and I can decorate.
Have a great day.
Hugs,
JB
Oops, I got all caught up in your collection and forgot to comment on your rugs. I love that humble rug, nothing humble about it, it looks beautiful and inviting, Great colors. Love the snowman pattern.

Love the rose hips Lauren and I hear they have medicinal qualities! Fabulous mache pumpkin collection! They are so hard to come by and pricey anymore as others have noted! I'm glad you shared the thoughts on the coal colored snowman.... I thought too that everyone may not appreciate that color... but the really deep primitive lover would adore it I think! Great idea to only hook the snowman portion as well! The lucky recipient is going to LOVE it!!
ReplyDeleteHugs!!

Hi, Lauren,
ReplyDeleteYour hooked rug is so pretty, and the Santa is going to be so cute. I keep dropping my PQAP subscription, then I end up getting it again. Love those rose hips, I have that exact same jug, but mine has a crack in back, making it affordable :)
