Ole Jack was started at rug camp in September in a class with Cathy Stephan (Red Barn Rugs). Though many people are now selling this antique adaptation, this is Cathy's smaller version and measures 28" x 39" which for me is BIG! I absolutely LOVE how it turned out and I could not have done it without her guidance and belief in me that I could really do it. THANK YOU, CATHY 💗
Next up . . . finishing my Granny Donaldson cow blanket rug. I am so close. Only background left to hook.
Our snow storm is over 😁 My son came yesterday after work and used his snowblower on my drive and sidewalks and even cleared a grassy area for Molly. Two hours later with the additional snow and the wind (it was snowing sideways), you had no idea that it was ever cleared. I am so thankful he came back today and did it all again. There is no snow in the forecast for the next week, but this is Ohio and can easily change.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

Congratulations on a job very well done and Jack is a handsome steed indeed. I've excellent at #1 and never have I ever done #2...on your list of course tee hee.
ReplyDeleteI am famous for throwing away the food ox and grabbing it back out for the instructions. LOL We only got 6 inches of snow after predicting over a foot. The only jo where you can be wrong and still keep your job...being a weatherman. Congrats on ole Jack. So love the primitive colors! Great job!!! Hope you have a great weekend and so glad you son came over twice to help you out. Janice
ReplyDeleteOle Jack is looking mighty fine. A handsome steed indeed... You did such a great job.
ReplyDeletePatt yourself on the back.
I've done several of those things on your list, many times, lol.
It's still snowing here and will continue until tomorrow afternoon until 4 oclock they say. I didn't got to the store so I had to bake some bread today. At least, I have something good to eat. I'm glad your storm is over.
Hugs,
Julia
Ole Jack turned out incredibly... I am glad Cat had faith in you as I was a bit dubious that you could go that reckless. But, of course, you did it in your own amazing and inimitable style. Perfectly perfect hooking, but still perfectly prim. How do you do that??! Never mind, don't bother even try explaining as I would never grasp it anyways. I haven't even ever managed the perfectly perfect hooking thing. Ya think it would happen at least once by sheer accident, wouldn't ya? But nope. Glad your snow has stopped. I was ready to send out snowplows. That list...yikes, that list. Someone who knows me very, very, well wrote it I suspect. ~Robin~

ReplyDeleteYes...CONGRATULATIONS are certainly in order for your incredible accomplishment on hooking that horse rug so beautifully!
BRAVO!
Ole Jack turned out beautifully!! Wonderful hooking!
ReplyDeleteFrom your list, it looks like we are good at the same things : )
Wonderful finish on your rug! So glad you have a son willing to help we have had our share of snow it was heavy shoveling that's for sure this time.

Ole Jack turned out awesome! You’ve done a great job of hooking all those “Stripened” lines! It’s difficult to get your brain to hook that way when you’ve hooked in straight lines for many years! Love your faded colors & color planning! Great job! 👏👏
ReplyDeleteNice finish. You are going to have two back to back finishes!! You can keep the snow, thank you. It is cold here, for us, anyway. 30s during the day, and windy. Wish I didn’t have to get out today. I relate to all of those funny, but oh so true, things. Such as getting old🤣🤣🤣 Stay warm and enjoy your weekend.
ReplyDeleteYour rug is just gorgeous ! Love your list ....I've done many of those ....Hope that's the last snow storm you get !!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous finish Lauren. He's wonderful! But those "things", need not be mentioned again. Oh wait. You'll forget you already posted and do it again. And I'll read them and think they sound familiar but won't remember from where.
ReplyDeleteYour rug came out beautifully, always love the primitive looks and colors.
ReplyDeleteThose sayings are all me, Lol. Not much snow here, we got rain and ice, so it is a mess now.

Ole Jack looks great! I laughed at your list of things you are good at!
