Around the Yard ~

Some pictures of what has been blooming around the yard.  Sadly, the peonies and Siberian iris are done for 2021.  They are two of my favorites.

The creeping Jenny I planted in the top of a rusty well pump is doing well.

I am not much of a pink flower person, but every year Marly posts about her bubblegum petunias and how prolific they bloom.  I found two small pots at the garden center and they have grown . . . and bloomed . . . like crazy.

Saturday, bright and early, I leave for a two day hooking class with Cathy Stephan of Red Barn Rugs, in Millersburg, OH.  Have I started to pack?  Anyone who knows me, knows the answer 😁  Pulling wool is on today's to-do list, but instead of that, I decided to dye wool thinking it may work in the rug I will start.  Not sure if it will, but oh, well.  And here is the rug I will be starting.  The Poser, (pattern by Cathy) based on an antique.  A chicken posing as an eagle.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

  3. Thanks for the garden tour. I love pink flowers. Your little tub of petunias is delightful. A real welcoming site. You still have a lot of gorgeous flowers and you can always count on annuals to carry on the show all through the summer and into autumn.

My irises are also blooming but it's been so hot, I doubt that they will last long. I noticed it was cooler today as I was weeding my potatoes. The cold breeze made me put on a vest.

Have fun with the hooking friends. Take pictures.

    Take care, hugs,
    Julia

  4. After seeing your post today I googled her AGAIN and found her FB page. I've looked for her patterns before with very little success and can never really determine WHAT or WHERE her patterns are to be seen. Disappointing and that is why I wrote to ask you the dimensions.

  7. GORGEOUS blooms!! Impossible to pick out a favorite...although I am partial to clematis...especially those rich, deep, colored ones. As I said, I had a dark Jackmanii mixed with my recalcitrant one, but it did not survive. I replaced it, and again it did not survive, so I gave up. And the blooms on yours certainly rival mine....I thought you said yours was behind mine?? I had to laugh....I have the same, exact, whirligig as the one in the photo with the little red wagon. Go figure. Have a GREAT time!! I'm jelly. I almost begged Cathy to drag me along...but, you know, Snowdog. I can't wait to see what you do with The Poser! Safe travels! ~et~

  12. Your garden is fabulous! I like to find unusual containers for plants. LOL Two things I always grab are metal buckets and enamelwear. Doesn't matter if there's a hole, I need drainage. LOL That rug is darn adorable. Yeah...it kinda looks like a chicken. LOL Have a wonderful week.
