Hump Day ~

I saw a great meme on Facebook yesterday but forgot to take a screen shot.  It said something to the effect you know you are in Ohio when you mow the lawn in anticipation of a snow storm 😊  We got very little snow here on Ohio's north coast, but I know other areas of Ohio got the 4-5" or snow predicted.  Good news ~ it will all be gone in a day or two!

I have another little finish to share.  Of course it is not "finished finished".  I'll let you in an a little secret.  Part of the design is one thread off.  Argh!  I thought I was being so careful counting.  No one would ever know but it still aggravates me.  It is worked on 32 count linen and measures 3" x 5".

Found this pattern in one of my many hooking books, Projects for Primitive Rug Hookers.  Madi's Favorite by Margo White.  I only enlarged it to 24" x 24" rather than the 30" x 30" Margo hooked.  I am not convinced this is what I really want to hook, but I need to get something on the frame (not like I don't have many others to choose from . . . sigh).

If this isn't the truth . . .

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

  3. That's why I don't do and will never do cross stitch ~ just too damn tedious. I loved ALL those shows and ALL those people. If you look closely, the people were getting along wonderfully in the shows and bet they had good times together away from work. Maybe a little humor on TV might be better than the way the news media spins everything.

  4. I need to get on the stick and get a magnifying glass so I can try cross stitching. I did a rug very similar to that rug not sure it is the same pattern. We just had thunder and now we are in for 2 to 4 inches of snow ugg

  5. Oh, how true. The sitcoms of "back in the day." Oh, I see where you are one stitch off...NOT. No one will ever notice that! I just notice how adorable the design is and how nicely done!

  6. LOL After so many years working in a prison, there is a short list of what offends me these days. I totally get the counting mistakes. I worked on a project that is 4 inches by 5 inches. I can't even tell you how many times I ripped out stitching. I added stitches, I put them on the wrong line. Sigh. At least I am done with it. And does anyone ever really look that close? Nope, not at my house. LOL Have a wonderful week!

  7. Yes.... methinks the reason why our generation doesn't get offended is because we all learned to laugh at ourselves and embrace our uniqueness! Seems everyone has their knickers in a knot is so quick to be defensive these days.... a miserable way to live... methinks (again).... lol!
Spring snow is the greatest... pretty on the blossoms and quick to leave! ;-)

  8. Oh.... and try some lugana (28 or 32 count)... it's soooooo nice to stitch on! And, it comes in colors, can be coffee/walnut stained or overdyed.... and some designers sell already overdyed. My new go to!

  9. I thought that reindeer looked off centre. Jk! I like the Margo White pattern. Looks like one I adapted from an antique rug. But yes, if you’re not feeling it, it’s hard to pick up. Pushing myself to finish my current adaptation. Ugh

  10. Oh Gosh, I hadn't thought about those old shows in ions. Those were the days. Life was so good in those days.
I couldn't tell if your cross stitch had any mistake in it. It all looks good to me.
We're supposed to get snow flurries tomorrow. Yuck.

    Have a good weekend.
    Hugs, Julia

  11. Love the little xstitch. Wish you were close and I would stitch it up for you. And you were just personalizes the xstitch, not making a mistake. You are too hard on yourself. I like the new rug. Somehow it seems it should be patriotic to me. Maybe that’s because I was thinking that I should hook a patriotic rug...lol. I am sick of the current situation and wish folks could just get over themselves. Afraid we’ll never see those gold old days again.
