Doing a Little Happy Dance ~

Just a quickie to let you know my hit 'n miss is DONE!!!  The hooking that is.  I trimmed the linen and zig zagged the edges today.   (Note to self . . . on a big rug, do this before hooking!!!).  Next up is steaming which I like about as much as I like binding.  I guess they are the necessary evils of a rug hooker.  The finished size is 30 1/2" x 48 1/2", my largest rug to date.

Sadly I have nothing planned to put on the frame.  I have plenty to choose from, but nothing is screaming at me to hook it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

  1. Wowzer woman, that is one big honking rug. Yeah, gonna be a bear to manipulate that sucker around the sewing machine for sure.
I know exactly what you're going thru with not having anything calling you to hook it. Fortunately there's something lined up for me but need the right color background and today's dye job didn't work.

  2. That is a superb rug! And a biggie. I like your colour combos. Has it put barely a dent in your wool pile?

  3. Congratulations... Your big rug looks fantastic. Do you have a spot ready for it? I know that you'll have that baby whipped in no time. A good rainy day project when it feels good to be inside.

  9. Wow, that's a nice big rug! Yes, it would have definitely been easier to do the zig zag before hooking. Anyway, it's gorgeous!

  10. WAHOO!!! HOW WONDERFUL - GOOD FOR YOU! Pat yourself on the back and let's get the binding done so you can enjoy it on the floor or wall or wherever!!! Maybe you need to go shopping for something new to pop out at you to inspire the next hook piece?

  12. Congrats on finishing the Hit or Miss. I am sure your worm bin shrunk considerably🤣🤣 It seems I always choose big rugs....and declare that I won’t do that again. Right. At least you have your xstitch to work on until something else calls you.

  16. It turned out fantastic!! It looks so nice! I think I have had the hardest time picking something to hook. I think its because I would rather be outside.
I hope you have a great week!
