Tom #1 was hooked back in 2015.
I am currently hooking Tom #2. He is hooking up quickly since he will only be about 12" x 16" ish. I feel I should make him a little Covid mask to wear 😁
This Star Rug Company Santa was started quite a few years ago. I assume I stopped because I was avoiding hooking the face. I am determined to finish him but when I found him tucked in the closet I did not notice if I had any of the red wool needed to finish his coat with the pattern. I am guessing I will have to find something similar and work a few worms throughout the coat. I also plan to reverse hook the snow and change it to my favorite Flax & Linen.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

Of the two Toms, the one you are hooking has nicer turkey colors, me thinks. Glad you are going to finish your Santa, and you'll be ahead of the Christmas curve, OOPS, did I say that dirty word?
ReplyDeleteOOPS again, Christmas is not a bad word, should have deleted my message and start over by saying the "C" word instead of dirty word.
ReplyDeleteI too like the warm colours of your second Tom. I need to get this pattern. Anything turkey makes my heart pitter patter
ReplyDeleteI like both Toms. But the colors on the second one are great!!
ReplyDeleteI'm still working on my same two projects, the purse and the donkey/horse. Each are getting closer to completion. Plus I started a new hobby - rug braiding. It's looking good too.
Wonderful rugs and perfect for the holidays. I was looking at your wool, I do love the variations in wool, makes it fun to hook with.

I love your santa! I have never hooked the same rug twice does it make it easier?

That Santa is very cute. I would love to make a second Tom. I loved that pattern too.
ReplyDeleteI love that red color, I hope you have more to finish it.
Your hooking progress is commendable (and astonishing in my world) BUT did you get those pumpkin rolls done??? (You know I had to ask LOL). Both Toms are wonderful, but I do like the warmer colors of the second one a bit better. Why did you hook it twice?? I've never done that....(well, I DID start a second Christmas stocking....but did not finish...and the design on the stocking was different than the first, so I don't think that counts LOL). Have you ever considered counseling for your aversion to faces??? ;-) Hope it's not snowing by you!! ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteI think I love Tom #2 better. Your rugs are always so nice! Janice
ReplyDeleteYour second Tom is looking so good. Not that the first one has anything wrong with it but I like the warmer colors of Tom #2 best as well. I'm sure that you will find just the right red for your Santa. I'm looking forward to seeing it finished.
ReplyDeleteTake care, stay safe, and well.
Hugs, Julia
Think I like the new Tom best as well. The Santa is so cute and deserves your attention. After all, you just finished a Santa face,so this one should be easy...lol.
