Now This is Funny ~

Or maybe it's just sad.  My mind is shot :(

Here is my wall of samplers leading from the living room to a small landing.  These are all samplers I stitched years ago with the exception of one antique.  I go up and down these stairs at least 30 times on a normal day.  They have all been hanging there for so long I could not tell you what samplers they are.

The other day, for an unknown reason, I happened to look at the wall and what did I see?  Lydia Bond framed and hanging there.  Now why did I start to stitch a second one?  I'm assuming (and we all know what happens when you assume) I planned to give to a friend.  Well, at least Lydia #2 is all stitched.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

  1. That IS funny. Guess you must have loved the design so much you purchased it twice. That happened with a rug design my friend loved (Gossip from Woolley Fox). BUT, she didn't hook it twice. While cleaning up her wool room she discovered two of the so gave the second one which I hooked.

  3. Heavens....more proof that we are, indeed, twins. I won’t go into to detail in that regard however. I love Lydia twice as much now.... And your collection of samplers...and your sampler wall....are absolutely phenomenal.... Happy Weekend-to-be! ~Robin~

  4. That is a funny story. Maybe you put it away because you realized long ago that you had already stitched it. I think you have to stop stitching and admire all what you already have. But it's really funny that you didn't even realize that you had one on the wall.
Oh well, now you have two... We're all getting old and forgetful, me especially.

    Have a wonderful weekend.

  6. I have to admit, I am laughing my you know what off. I have bought the same thing too many times to count...most recently last week. But I don’t think that I have ever stitched the same thing twice. Your sampler wall is wonderful. Why don’t wshare some of those with us all along.

  7. That is so funny. I love your blog. This is another reason why, you do some of the same things I do. I haven't stitched the same thing twice (because I am not as fast and prolific as you) but I have almost purchased the same pattern twice, lol.

  8. That is funny :-) I've bought duplicate patterns before, but I never got to stitching the first one. No matter, as long as you enjoyed the stitching and result, there are plenty worse things to do twice!

The question is, had you realized it was already on the wall when #2 was half done, would you abandon or finish it?

  15. Well I must say that's one thing I haven't done yet -- stitch something I've already stitched without realizing it. lol! These things happen, I guess!
