Good Monday to you. What a difference a day makes. Yesterday was H-O-T and today downright chilly. So funny. One hot day and someone on Facebook that I know was already longing for snow. Not me, but I do hope we have some real spring weather before summer.
I have no idea how many of these Betsy style pumpkins I have hooked and given away over the years. I even sold a few a number of years back. This one, hooked with hand torn strips, will be another door prize for the Crooked River hook in this October.
The back was finished in a primitive patchwork. As you can see, I am no quilter. The back takes me longer to complete than the front. Not hard, just time consuming.
Just Gail, a "no reply-comment blogger", asked me on my last post "had you realized it was already on the wall when #2 was half done, would you abandon or finish it?" Since I was way more than half done, I think I would still have finished it. I have one more unfinished sampler tucked away from decades ago I hope to finish next.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

Ya know....you’re making me want to go to camp just for a chance at one of your wonderful prizes. I consider myself blessed to have been able to purchase one of your sweet torn, crazy quilt, pumpkins. We haven’t seen hot yet....a ‘nice’ every 2 weeks or so...then rain and cold. Yesterday our high was 43....and a relentless rain. Hope your week is off to a great start ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling, I have been sweating all day from the humidity, way too early for that.
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin is a fun piece, I need to make something for a stool I have, be fun to design something for it.

We were hot a muggy then the rain came and we are now clear crisp and a bit to chilly
ReplyDeleteI am not longing for snow that is for sure. so sad for the weather in the midwest

Love the back and the front both! That applique takes time! It seems weather patterns are the same all over. We had the same -- yesterday was gross, hot and humid. Today it's cool. Fine by me!
ReplyDeleteAnd it was 92 hot humid degrees here yesterday and today less humid and only to reach in the low 70s. Go figure.
ReplyDeleteYour pumpkin looks luxurious.
ReplyDeleteIt's been raining for the last several days here so no gardening for me. It seems we have been getting a lot of rain in May so far. I'm looking forward to getting some sun.
Hugs, Julia
I always enjoy seeing those pumpkins. You do such lovely work. I really do like the way you finish the back. I am not a quilter either but I have always wanted to make a crazy quilt.
ReplyDeleteWe have had rain and snow and will have it until June. Normal for here is 100 that is what I read this morning. We might make it to 65 today.
Very odd weather this year.
Have a lovely day.
Always love your pumpkins! Am working on a witch and some mammie dollies in my spare time right now. Janice
ReplyDeleteJust hot here in GA. And dry. All of that rain and lovely temperatures are a distant memory. Sweet pumpkin. I always like the light ones.
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren,
ReplyDeleteI am SO HAPPY that I can FINALLY COMMENT!!! Not sure what happened or changed, but I will take it!!!!
Love your sweet pumpkin and treasure mine from you!! It stays out all year!!!
Someone will be a happy winner!!!
Our weather is normally in the 90's during this month but has been almost 20 degrees cooler and I am NOT COMPLAINING!!! Love having the windows open and hearing the birds rather than the AC!! The heat WILL COME, but will enjoy it being cooler for now!!!
Hope you have a wonderful week, my friend!!
Heart Hugs~
