Fun Stuff at Sauder ~

Just some random pictures from Sauder ~

Hookers hard at work.

Charisse's wonderful frame cover.  A Rebekah L. Smith pattern that she modified to fit her frame.  Not at all yellow in person.  Just gorgeous.

This is a H.U.G.E. rug being hooked with handtorn strips for a southern Ohio guild challenge.

Friend Bobbie working on a pattern by Lori Rippey.

Her wool worms organized (what's that?) in this cool old box.

Melissa's rug ~ pattern by Lana Omlor, Humble Rugs.

Pam's rug she designed at a retreat with Ali Strebel and Karen Kahle.

Charisse and Sue hooking a fun pattern by Canadian designer Karen Thoms?????

Isn't this a cool technique?  The center is a small, thin chairpad purchased in Amish country with a hooked border.  I believe the hooker was Karen.

Cindi Gay's room size rug she's been working on for about 10 years.  You would not believe how heavy it is.  I don't know how she can even carry it.  I think she said the finished size will be 6 1/2' x 10'.  The first picture captures the true colors.

Fun rug at the throw down.

Donna's rug.  Pattern by Red Barn Rugs.  I did not capture the rug's wonderful colors :(

I believe this was the Marblehead Lighthouse and the lightkeeper's house being hooked by Rita.

What a fun Corgi rug!  It is being donated and auctioned off to benefit a Corgi organization.  Hooked by Sandra???

Eggcellent being hooked by Kim.

Sorry I didn't take more pictures, but above is just a sampling of the talent.  There are so many talented hookers out there.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

  1. Thanks again Lauren for showing us the rugs hookers were working on. That's a good sample of the rugs. I had seen Cindi Gay's huge rug on her web site a while back. It's really beautiful and a true labour of love. It must be a big challenge to work on it for so long.

  5. Beautiful projects being worked on by all. And...how dare she put us (me) to shame by having all her strips organized. Now I have to be a recluce, lol.

While I do start out organized it all goes to S++t.

  12. Hi Lauren,
I just loved seeing all those beautiful rugs, but have to say the the one by Cindi Gay is just INCREDIBLE!!! I was imagining how heavy it must be and what kind of frame she uses, or is it by hand? That one just boggles my mind!!! So glad you had an amazing time and looking forward to more photos!!
    Enjoy your week!
    Heart Hugs~

  13. What great inspiration!! I have seen Cyndi's rug pictured before...it is amazing in every way. The Rebekah frame cover was beautiful and such a clever idea. Have always wanted to take a class from Karen Kahle, but she is so far away.

  15. Wow! So much eye candy!!! Thank you!!! I love the hand torn strip one (both the design and the look of the loops)... and the one with the braided center... and (of course) Cyndi Gay's rug... and Bobbie's worm box! lol! Yep... difficult to pick a favorite... how could anyone get any hooking done while there? ;-)
