Thank You ~

I don't even know how to begin to say thank you for all the kind comments, emails, messages and cards.  Our hearts are broken and the tears have not yet stopped.  With each passing day, I know they will lessen.  Ellen, Miss Ellie, Ellie Mae, Missy ~ she had many monikers.  She was such a loving little girl.  She will be sorely missed and never forgotten.

Here she is in her favorite spot ~ sitting by me in the hooking room on her favorite blankie.  My constant companion.  Run fast and free, dear Ellie.  Someday we will meet again.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
xoxo,
Lauren

  1. Dear lauren, I feel so bad just reading this post because I can feel your pain in some way. It brings back memories of when I couldn't stop crying either when I had to make the painful decision myself. Everyday when I walked in I expected to see her happy waggly tail but soon I would realized it was only wishful thinking.
Time heals but it's still takes a while.
Thinking of you and your family.
    Hugs

  4. I agree with what Julia said in her first post about reliving the memory of the painful decision. It is the right one for our beloved pet but never feels right to us.

You need to divert your attention to something positive and good. Pick up that hook. Or, I can send you some rugs to bind for me which will keep you occupied. (hope that put a smile on your face for a second)

  5. I like to think that Ellie and Millie and running together at the bridge. And they are comparing stories about their crazy Moms, sharing bones and chasing butterflies

  7. I am so glad for your updates. I have been worried about you. I had two dogs attack my cat on my front yard once. I know how that shock just keeps coming.
I think about you so much. I hope you will feel better soon. It is so hard coming home to the quiet house.
    Hugs from me to you.

  8. Hugs sweet Lauren and know we all mourn with you for the loss of sweet Ellie. When we lost Maggie Mae to a coyote it was one of the worst days of my life and I mourned for months which wasn't good for me or hubby. It's been 6 years since we lost her and I still cry sometimes when I think of her but mainly I laugh choosing to remember her life and not the end. I want that for you much sooner my friend.

May your broken heart heal with each sweet memory of your lovely girl!! Being able to express your grief is the first step to healing and though you will always feel the sadness, the pain will ease over time and you will remember her with joy!! I am so happy that you have been lifted up by so many who love you and understand!
    Sending BIG HUGS~

  12. You loved her and gave her a good life. She loved you for that and more. It takes time to ease the pain but I don't think we ever get over missed our beloved companions. She is in a special place now pain free and that is what you have to remember. Blessings to you and your family.

  14. I cry every time I see a post here or on Facebook, as do others, so Miss Ellie has a lot of tears for her. I can't send a card because I was wailing in the aisle while reading them and had to walk away. Our words can't help the pain, but know that we wish they could.
