Winter Solstice ~

 
 
Winter officially begins today.  The good part, starting tomorrow we will have more minutes of daylight each day.  Hopefully the prediction of a mild winter will hold true in northern Ohio.  I really won't feel bad if we don't get much snow :)
 
I finished my Facebook challenge rug today and I'm doing a little happy dance.  I bound it in the wool I used for the horse (cut in an 8).  It's the first time I've bound a rug with wool strips and I'm happy with the way it turned out and it didn't take nearly as long as I thought it would.  I'll share the finish as soon as it gets a final steaming.

My only vintage feather tree.  The bead garlands, along with some of the ornaments, are also vintage. 

 
I always struggle over what to use on the dining room table.  It's been a year or two since I used the sled.

 
Another cheesy plastic Santa.  I think I have 5 of them around the house.

 
I will leave you with this picture of our sweet Loocie.  DSO sent this to me at work and it just made me smile.  I don't know how she can possibly be comfortable, but she sleeps like this often.

    Your rug is just wonderful! I know that feels good to get it finished!! Love all your displays! The tree is so pretty and I really love the sled on your table! I did that too!! Locie is sooooo cute!! If I slept that way I would dislocate my jaw!! Glad she is happy!!

    Your decorations look wonderful and I love your sled. That looks like something Bill could make. I always look at them in the store and the nice ones are so much, so maybe we can make one next year.

    I love your warn decor and the sled on the table too.Your home looks so inviting. Ohh Loocie sleeps like one of my barn cats. He get up on the water heater and rest his chin in between the two water pipes and valve.

    Your challenge rug looks great. Congratulations on finishing it.

    Wonderful Christmas fun at your house! Love the little vintage feather tree...and ornaments. Great finish on your rug. My first rug was a primitive Xmas tree and I bound it in red ticking. I like the look of that kind of finish. Loocie is adorable!

    Both trees look beautifully decorated and the whole house dressed to the nines. It has been a while since I bound a rug with wool strips and you have inspired me to do that....soon. But not the one I'm currently working on. Nice table display with the sled.

    I love that feather tree - can't believe you have the perfect vintage ornaments to go on it! And the sled for a centerpiece is pure genius! I used wool strips once to whip a rug and quite enjoyed the process and the finished product. Look forward to seeing your rug!

    Love your cheesy Santa's I have one that about 4 ft tall that my mom just gave me she was going to throw it out its so faded I'm going good to repaint it for next year
