Oh, I've been such a bum this weekend spending much more time with hook in hand than I normally do, but it sure does feel good :) I've made great progress on my heart mat. I did change the date from 1820 to 1803 ~ the year Ohio became a state. The wool for the heart is all from my worm basket or very narrow scraps. I did cut wool for the background. I cut it both horizontally and vertically to give it more variation. I'm hooking it in an 8.5 and 9 cut and the finished size will be 9 3/4" x 15 3/4".
Tomorrow is a holiday for me. I just love these three days weekends but there aren't enough of them. Less than three weeks until the two day hooking retreat at Sauder Village. That is always G-R-E-A-T fun.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

Your heart rug is looking mighty nice. It's nice that you're showing us a sample of the wool before and after hooking.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your little vacation and the Sauder experience, lucky girl...
We're enjoying a January thaw at the moment. I guess Mother Nature got the hint when she saw me with my foot in a bucket of hot water to keep warm, hahaha.
Have a nice week.
Hugs,
JB

ReplyDeleteHi, Lauren, How nice that you have a 3 day weekend. How will you spend your time, hooking? antiqueing, perhaps? Enjoy your day :) Love your heart mat, too.
ReplyDeleteLove your heart & the colors you are hooking with. The red really pops out. I wonder what color the key is going to be! Enjoy your day off, sounds like a hooking day to me!!
ReplyDeleteLove that heart. I just ordered a bunch of wool pieces for applique and really enjoyed seeing how the fabric's pattern creates the shading when hooking. She had examples for almost every one. Cool!

ReplyDeleteWhat else are weekends for, but to catch up on our hooking and crafting projects.
