Scenery along the Pacific Coast Highway is breathtaking and at times a bit scary. Oftentimes it is a very long way down ~ with no guardrail.
This is the Hearst Castle from a great distance. Unfortunately we did not have time for a visit. Maybe next time . . .
Here is a better picture of the penny mat I am offering in the give-away. You can read about it here. The penny in the middle row is NOT as gold as it looks here.
I also finished this little triangular one. I am done stitching pennies for a while :)
These pictures are for Gayle. She asked if I would please show the back. (Wow. Looking at these pictures I sure notice that my penny placement is off, but from the front they look okay.)
Both Kim and I are finally hooking something ~ YEAH. She has a good excuse for not having hooked and of course I do not. I will share my project soon.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

ReplyDeleteYour trip to California looks beautiful...I love being near the ocean. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThe Pacific Coast Highway is pretty amazing, isn't it? I went to the Hearst Castle when I was about 11. I just remember thinking it was boring. lolol! I still hate house tours. :D Love California -- it'll always have a special place in my heart.
ReplyDeleteLove the ocean. It always make me happy to be near it.
ReplyDeleteI think the back of the penny mat is just fine and tidy! Great job but guess you won't be doing any more any time soon.
ReplyDeleteI did go on a Hearst Castle tour and it was magnificent. At the huge inside pool area I recall the tour guide saying...."anything that looks like gold IS". You wouldn't believe how much gold shined in the tiles all around the walls, pool, floor, etc.

ReplyDeleteOh someday you do have to come back and go through Hearst Castle. It is worth the time. I do like your penny rugs. I really forget how pretty it is further up the coast. I also forget that there are no guard rails.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you had a nice time in California.
Have a wonderful, restful weekend.
Wonderful photos of your trip, lots of beautiful views. I like the triangle one, I do have a pattern for a tree shaped penny, would be fun to make some as gifts.
