A Tale of Two Santas ~

I'm on a roll here.  I finished not one, but two Santas.  The pattern is by Lori Rippey (Homespun Prims) and you can purchase the pattern here.

As you can see, I took out the black "definition" line and decided that the direction of the hooking was enough to define the arm.  Much better, me thinks.

The first picture was taken without the flash and the red is closer to the true color.

Taken with the flash, the pic is crisp but the color is much too bright.

I've even got them bound and the labels sewn on. Is this the new, improved me?  Most likely not :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

  3. Lauren,
What a thrill for me to see my design come to life by another rug hooker. Thank you so much for sharing and for the link. You did a great job on both rugs.
    Big hugs, Lori

  5. Your two Santas look great, Lauren! These two side by side really showcase how wool color and texture can change the whole look of a rug. Love both your versions of this pattern, but I'm aways drawn to darker backgrounds ;0)

  8. I love your Santas, I like that you use some labels on your rugs. I would like to see a tutorial on doing the labels if you have time. I read the direction but I would like to see how it's done.

  11. Hi, Lauren,
Love them both! You are sure on a roll. Bound and labeled and everything! I like the blue one better without the beauty line, glad you took it out.

  13. Great Belsnickles. I've been away for a few days and so out of the loop and have missed much. I like what you've hooked and like both the red and the blue. If seeing both in a store I'd have a hard time choosing so would probably buy both.
