The End ~ At Last


Here are the last of the rugs from the Ann Arbor hook-in.  These three were "painted" with wool.




This rug was very interesting.  Some of it was sculpted (Waldoboro?).


The background appeared to be somehow woven rather than hooked.  It looked like a basket weave. 



 I adore these geranium pots.



Just for fun.





Another version of Jonah and the Whale.  I believe it's a Woolley Fox pattern.  This was my favorite rug of the show.  SO MUCH BETTER in person.

Between my day job and yard work at two houses (after 6 months, having lowered the asking price 4 times, I think, I still can't even get a nibble on my mom's house I've been trying to sell.  It's now listed at about 60% of what she paid for it 11 years ago.  You can't convince me the housing market it improving!), I have been a hookin' fool.  I want to finish my Magdalena runner before class next Tuesday.  It will be close but I'm not sure if I will make it.  I'm also getting anxious to start a new project though I haven't yet decided what it will be.

    lovely rugs as always that basket weave one I would love to know how to do that it must be a wide cut. I think the houseing market is better in pockets I think.

    Wow! That's a whole lotta talent! Love the first one with the mill and geese... and those geranium pots are the best! I wish I could help sell your Mom's house... I've been through a similar situation and it really drains all energy and enthusiasm from you at times... hugs!

    Thanks again for the lovely rug show. So many beautiful rugs and that weaving is rather interesting. I wonder what kind of tool the hooker used to do the weaving.

    I would have hope that the house would have sold by now. How depressing..... so much for burring a statue upside down in the yard.
    60% less than what she has paid for? I will pray that it sells quickly. Not much else I can do...

    I like that woven looking background. Very different. WOW on the geraniums! I guess St. Joseph's statue isn't a good real estate agent!

    That basket weave technique looks amazing. I've never seen that done before. And the geraniums were gorgeous too.

    Wow...what amazing talent! Love the geraniums and the woven background! Wish you could push that house down here to Florida. My neighbor listed his house on Friday and had two contracts by Sunday! Have you tried burying a statue os St. Joseph in the yard? I know some people swear by it.
