The first week in April is rug camp week at Punderson State Park in Newbury, Ohio. Andrea and I took a little road trip to check out the rug show. I did not make note of who hooked each rug, so I cannot give credit to most of the hookers. Sorry :(
I was able to capture the true colors on some rugs . . .
Cindi Gay |
. . . and on some rugs I failed miserably. The colors of this rug were so muted and old looking. This pattern is in my hooking closet waiting to be hooked.
This pattern is also residing in the hooking closet, though mine is the smaller version.
I LOVE this pattern (and the way it was hooked!).
The colors in the pumpkin rug are much richer than in my picture, but I wanted you to see the owl with the quilly eyes and a needle felted nose . . .
Kris Miller |
. . . and the cat with the needle felted eyes and whiskers and a beaded mouth.
I will have a few more rugs to share in my next post and an update on Auntie Peanut.
Pug hugs :)

Wow, Lauren,
ReplyDeleteThose rugs are all so neat. You must have had a great time there. :)
I haven't hooked a rug in ages. The one that I did make was in no way as good as yours and these.
Have a good evening and a great Thursday.
Take care, Janet W
Wow. So much talent. I giggled at the "scaredy cat". He looks so cool

Lauren,
ReplyDeleteGorgeous rugs! I love to get inspiration from rugs others have hooked. Thanks for sharing. Hugs, Lori
Rug shows are always so much fun. I notice that most of the rugs are primitive for the exception of Cindi Gay's dog. I love how she hooked him. He looks so beautiful. The eyes looks real. Thanks for sharing. JB
ReplyDeleteWhat a great show this must have been. You captured some gorgeous photos of the rugs.
ReplyDeleteCould you tell me what kind or size of rug hook I should buy? I don't know where to start, I have all of the worms I won from you and I am so excited to get started!
Hugs,
Susan

You are so lucky to be able to go to these amazing shows Lauren....What great rugs! My favorites this time 'round are the little dimensional bunnies, that INCREDIBLE fraktur bird, and, of course, the wonderful Halloween rug with the adorable scaredy cat! Too fun!!
