~ ~ ~ Women are from Venus
Entry in Wife's Diary: Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a nice restaurant for dinner. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed, but he didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; He said, 'Nothing.' I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior; I don't know why he didn't say, 'I love you, too.' When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep - I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster.
Entry in Husband's Diary: Boat wouldn't start, can't figure it out.

I finished hooking my rabbit rug last week and had nothing to take with me to hooking on Thursday evening and no time to plan much of anything. I drew up a little horse rug, about 12" x 17", a real no brainer. I've made quite a bit of progress so far.
I now have three large (large for me!) and one small rug to bind and as I've said before, I hate the finishing process. I did get two of them steamed and the linen zig-zagged and trimmed. Hopefully I will get busy on them! I'll share them when I am done.

Saturday DSO Fritz and I went on our first cross country flight together in the RV-12. (He purchased a new gas tank so NO LEAKS!) We flew to Newcastle, PA, which is about a hundred miles from here for a fly-in and car show. For the most part, the weather was beautiful and it was a smooth flight. We did encounter a little turbulence, nothing serious, and he said he was proud of me because I did not scream like a girl!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope everyone in Irene's path can now breathe a sigh of relief. Good Night, Irene.
Still pug(less) hugs :)

I laughed out loud at the scream like a girl comment. You made us all proud. Cute little horsie. I'd offer to help you with the binding of your rugs but I think I used up all my finishing energy for awhile. It's pretty bad when you are bored enough to whip! Lol
ReplyDeleteHahahahaha i am still laughing!
ReplyDeleteThank you for this great evening!
I hope you have a great week!

Hi Lauren,
ReplyDeleteLet's make a deal, I will bind your biggest rug project if you will finish my tiny needlepunch thingy....?????
Hugs
Karin
PS: I had to leave this anonymous because the google thingy wouldn't let me leave a message!!!!
I love the venus mars thing. How fun to go up up and away. I would take karin up on her offer. The way you needle punch. I hate to finish also.
ReplyDeleteWe are high and dry not sure if I will get to work in the AM as the river I cross is to go over its banks tonight.
Cathy
Way to go on not screaming! Sounds like a fun day And glad the gas tank doesn't leak - heard that was a good thing! Wow you are a busy hooker - not get those rugs finished and show us!
ReplyDeleteLauren, We must be on the same page I have a horse that I copied from a friend looks very much like your horse. Then I read Men are from Mars. oh so True! That could be my Hubby! LOl
ReplyDeleteWay to go girl! I would have had to wear depends to make it through the turbulence! LOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the Mars ... Venus.... story. So true isn't it!!
Your hooking always looks so good! Get on the ball so you don't get too far behind on the finishing. But try not to tap into the emergency wine stash like some hookers up in Can. have been known to do while binding!
Hugs!

ReplyDeleteNow you know you have violated the Cranky Crow Rule....Can never have more than 2 unfinished projects going at a time (of the same craft....) What is it with you all?? I LOVE whipping and binding (shh!!)....I might have to lend out my services in exchange for your hooking services or something!! (oohhh...that doesn't sound good, does it??) ;o) Love your new horsey - but really wanna see that Wascally Wabbit!!! Come on Lauren....show us!!! Love the diary entries....ahhh c'est la vrai! Have a great week! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteYou are more brave than me! Glad it was a good flight!! Love the horse, it is so cute. Like the Cranky Crow, I love to whip, don't know why, just do!

Gosh Lauren, must have been a thrill to fly cross country iun the RV.
ReplyDeleteLove the Mars-Venus story. A great laugh to start the day but what truth about the way we think.
Is another Pug coming soon?
I love Men are from Mars and had a good chuckle. I am so proud of you for not screaming like a girl. With that said, I still rather have my feet firmly on the ground than in the air.
ReplyDeleteYour little horse is adorable. I need to start hooking again but with so much to do I don't know which task to tackle first. I hope that you have a good week. JB
You always give me a giggle..smile..Warm Blessings!~Amy
ReplyDeleteGreat "men are from mars" story. So true! As much as I try to remind myself that men are in a bad mood from altogether random things...I still think it's me! Good girl, not screaming like a "girl"! I used to be able to fly in those things, but now I can't even climb small mountains without crying, so don't look to me to be brave! I love the horsey. I just finished another rug and have nothing but binding to take with me to first hook-in in this area...sigh! Have a good week!
ReplyDeleteHugs!
Cute "Men are from Mars" post! You are brave to have endured the turbulence without screaming like a girl. Flying is ok in big planes, but I don't think I could relax in one of those smaller ones!
ReplyDeleteYour horse rug is looking great. Can't wait to see it finished.
Lauren,
ReplyDeleteGreat story at the start...made me laugh! Loving your little horse rug....I'm liking a red horse!
Well, isn't that just like a man. Funny
ReplyDeleteI love the horse rug. So primitive.
