Bird dog ~

A while back I posted this work in progress. Pat Cross, the designer, stumbled upon my blog and sent me the sweetest email asking that I send her a picture when completed.
Here he is all finished.
A close-up.
The label I attached to the back. Sorry for the blurry picture.
I feel I received the ultimate compliment. Pat sent me another email saying she loved it and that I did a wonderful job!!! It was the first Bird Dog she had seen in punch needle. THANK YOU PAT!!! Pat's book, "Purely Primitive", is a great book. For the beginner, it offers instruction on how to hook, choosing materials, finishing your rug and even dye instruction. It also contains many patterns. Just a great book for your hooking library. Here's hoping Pat is working on another one.
I'm off to Woof-fest at the Grateful Dog Bakery (don't you just LOVE that name?) with Eema to work the Ohio Pug Rescue booth. Hopefully Eema will find her forever home today (though I don't know how I can let her go!).
Thanks so much for stopping by and please come again soon.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

Oh did you ever do a good job on your bird dog pn!!! I love the colors. I'm sure Pat was thrilled to see it! I hooked it in 8 cuts a few years ago but now that I do the wider cuts I'd like to hook it again and in different colors. I love the neutral pallete of your pn version. Thanks for showing us! I hope Pat does another book too. I'd buy it in a hot minute!!

  3. If you see a border collie and a teenage girl with BIG hair, they belong to me. Wolfstock is their favorite thing to do and they go every year! Great rug and beautifully done.

The punch needle bird dog is adorable. How cool that Pat Cross got in touch with you! I love her designs.
I hope Eema finds a forever home, but I know you will miss her terribly. And I will miss the pictures and the Eema stories!

  10. I LOVE it Lauren!!!
I have a feeling that you are gonna have Eema forever--the older dogs aren't as adoptable as the younger ones. I can't understand why they won't let you be her forever home and still foster!!

  11. Lauren, you really did an amazing job on this one! I LOVE the pattern.
I've never tried punch needle. I have all the stuff to do it, just can't find the time for another project!
Maybe Pat will put you in one of her books!
And bless you for working with the doggies.
    xo, Sheri
