Patriotic hooking ~

Hooking seems to be in slow motion, but the mats I needed to hook for gifts and door prizes are almost done.  I just need to finish up this one and then hopefully I can get back to my deer rug ~ started in January ~ and finish the darn thing before a class in June.

This is actually the third flag mat I have hooked.  Such an easy hook.

These two mats were door prizes for the Western Reserve hook in last Saturday.  I was pleased with sales so I was a happy hooker.

Had the hand re-X-rayed yesterday.  I am healing well, but though anticipated, when the ortho doctor said three more weeks in the brace, I almost cried.  It is so limiting . . . but still thankful not a hip or shoulder.  But darn!!!  It is going to be a long three weeks 😢

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

  1. Thoughtful hooked gifts and well done. Perhaps I should use a small piece of linen and hook a primitive flag for my son and DIL for Christmas.

  2. Wonderful piece to donate. I have put hooking aside for the summer and did some water color painting.

  3. Your Patriotic pieces are pretty . Great you had good sales ! 3 more weeks in your brace ...darn , then you have to do some PT to get those muscles back in shape . Luckily you have been able to use your hand a little .

  4. What wonderful pieces for door prizes. Love the flag one the most with the single star. Ugh on your limited movement...but yes thankful it was not worse. Janice

  6. I always enjoy seeing your hooking. I am amazed you can do more than I do with two hands, you do with one. You are so amazing.

  7. While I don't "believe" her (as I know she hooks like a frenzy), I agree with what she said as it applies to me...you get more done with one hand than I will ever with 2. Those patriotic mats are wonderful. Then again, I swear you could hook a pile of poo and make it loo amazing. Your colors, your perfect loops...gah!

  8. These are wonderful! You say they are for door prizes - about how long do they take you to make? I absolutely love them and I have never tried rug hooking before, but I want to!
