At long last ~

This antique adaptation was started at rug camp in January in Florida.  Geez, it took long enough, but I did hook lots of other things in the meantime.  I just was not happy with the rug.  Sue gave me some insight as to why I didn't like it.

THIS!!!  The large deer looked like he was wearing a saddle blanket.

Off it went.

Much better!  And so close to finally being finished with it.

Sometimes a rug is just painful to finish and I will avoid working on it for weeks (or years 😁).  But finally . . .

A good steaming will even out the loops and lumpiness.  Then on to the dreaded binding.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

  1. Sue was right about this. Now it looks fantastic with no saddle. I have not been feeling the love with the one rug I started and put it away. Need to re-think some of the colors myself. Guess we all get into a funk now and then with things. Janice

  2. What a gorgeous rug! I am quite fond of deer, and these two look so sweet.

  3. It is SO much better and looks like a perfectly hooked beautiful rug. I've become to dislike binding a little less as I only work on it during The Five each day. I get my news and the hour is painless that way.

  6. Great finish...and, yes, Sue was 101% spot on... I would likely have told you you would never like it no matter how you hooked it because you just don't like deer. ;-) But the shading now is perfect - the graduation to the lighter underbelly is just how the real ones look (at least in these parts).

  7. Fabulous finish. Love this one a lot. So I guess you can still work your hook without issue?

  8. It looks great. I just finished a rug I started in Nov and did not hook anything else in between. So you are way ahead of me.
