I will start the rug show with rugs that will be in Celebrations. What an honor for these hookers to be included with the best of the best! (If I missed any, I apologize to the hookers!)
Next I will share the group of rugs that was my absolute favorite exhibit at the show. It was a group exhibit by the Buckeye Rug Hooking Guild of Central Ohio. I belong to the guild but did not participate in the challenge. The mats had to be hooked in a much finer cut than I use. I knew most of the hookers whose rugs were displayed. I hope you can enlarge to see how wonderfully they were hooked. What talent!!! The small framed pictures were copies from the book.
My inner voice failed me, but not too badly. I came home with three yards of wool. Three pieces to replenish wool that I like to have in my stash. Also two "poison" colors, jargon for a somewhat bright piece to make a rug pop.
It will take me several posts to show all the rugs. If you are on Facebook, you have probably seen them already.
I am making myself crazy trying to get ready for vending on Saturday. I keep finding more stuff to price, but I doubt all the "treasures" I am taking will fit in my 10' x 10' space. Plus it is going to be stinking hot. What was I thinking???
Thanks so much for stopping by.

What a fun post. I love seeing all of the rugs and seeing those small pictures was so fun. I hope you do really well on Saturday. I have been to one rug show like that and it was nothing but exciting and beautiful. Thank you so much for sharing this. I loved them all.
ReplyDeleteEnjoyed the show, and your guild did a great job making those children depictions. I'd not have participated in the narrow cut challenge either but fun as heck to look at.
ReplyDeleteHope you have nothing to take home after Saturday except a wad of cash.
Thank you so much for sharing these amazing pictures . I absolutely Love those Children Playing hooked pieces . How exciting for all the woman you know who did a fabulous job hooking those ! It just has to be incredible to see all of the rugs there. Wish it wasn't that far me to go there in person.
ReplyDeleteGood Luck selling your hand made treasures ! Hope you see everything !!!
Like Kim said, what a fun post! Amazing rugs! Hooking that I could never even begin to aspire to. I just adore that bunny rabbit Celebration rug...but your guild's "Let's Play" mats leave me properly gobsmacked. Wowsers!! They are so precise and faithful to the book pictures that they look like they could have been hooked by the same person. How big was each one? Dang it...speaking of rabbits, now I'm down another rabbit hole trying to find the poems that go with the pages (couldn't quite read them from the post photos). Best of luck with the vending!! Never a dull moment in your life.
