More Cross Stitch ~

You'd think I had not start doing counted cross stitch five decades ago.  I think I did more frogging on this piece than I have ever done.  Not sure why I kept making so many counting errors 😡.  It was supposed to say God Bless America, but I didn't plan my spacing so it didn't fit.

The colors do show up a bit better in person.  I haven't a clue what I will do with it.  Perhaps just tack it to a cupboard.

I thought this would be my last cigar box (#8), but the boxes are coming in a little more slowly than hoped for, so to help our cigar box "coordinator", I brought two more boxes home with me from guild today.

This may be my least favorite box so far 😒

The inside is just kind of blah.

That's it!  Only two more days of eye restrictions and I can wash my hair without help and not have to wear my eye shield at night.  YEAH!  But as anyone who has had cataract surgery knows, 2+ more weeks of eyedrops.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

  1. I've done stitchery in my past life but never counted cross stitch and never wanted to attempt it.
I've had cataract eye surgery twice, had the drops before and after but never had restrictions on washing hair.

  2. You could make a pillow and stitch your recent cross stich on the top of it. Maybe use a patriotic fabric. Looks good to me. Janice

  3. I think your stitcheries look great! I would do a hemstitch or a nun stitch around that first one and drape it over an open cupboard door or over a chair or something. Eeek...need help washing your hair after cataract surgery?? I don't recall my husband having to do that. Glad you're on the downside of things.

  4. Nice stitching! It still turned out well even though it wasn't what you planned. Haven't had C surgery but my husband did and they tore his whatever it's called on the 2nd eye. Yes it seems to go on for quite a while even when things go right. He still wants to wear his sunglasses. I like that your latest cigar box still shows some of the original markings.

  5. I find what you are going through to be so interesting. I never wore a eye shield after the initial surgery. I didn't have to do eye drops. I could take a shower after the first day. They do so many cataract surgeries out here though, they have a place that does nothing but that every day. But then I was only fifty something so it could have been that. It might be different now.
I love your cross stitch. I love how it looks on that box. I think you did such a nice job. It really looks like something I might like to try. I hope you are having a nice day and week.

  7. Do you have a wide basket that your stitchery can adorn the side of?
