Any of you who have been reading my blog for a while know that I always wait until the last minute to pack, and this time is no different! I finally have my suitcase (overpacked, of course) and hooking supplies ready to load in the car . . . except for wool. That is always the hardest part trying to choose what wools to take. What colors am I going to use in my rug? Perhaps the teacher has better choices than mine (that's why I'm taking a class, right?). I just figure the more wool I pack, hopefully the less wool I have to buy. I know I will come home with some. I hear her wool is just beautiful. Decisions, decisions.
I am almost done with my little bunny rug. It is a fun little hook. A paper pattern can be purchased here.
When I got my oil changed a couple weeks ago, the mechanic (who I totally trust) told me I needed new tires. I thought I maybe got tires 2-3 years ago. Nope . . . 4+ years ago and had 44K miles on them. He suggested I get them before doing any travelling. I thought better to be safe than sorry, so had them put on last week. A few days later heading about 75 miles away for a fun day, my tire light came on. Turned around and went to the mechanic (thankfully 5 minutes away) and he said the one tire was low. All was good until yesterday when DSO checked the tire pressures. Argh!!! Low again. Went to the shop first thing this morning in a near panic. A bad valve stem was replaced so I am good to go!!! It's always something, isn't it?
Hopefully will get lots of hooking done (never as much as I think I will . . . sigh) and have a great time. If only my travel buddy will behave herself, but with Sue, you just never know.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren
Was getting ready to do a post on my blog and saw you had a new one so had to check in. Luckily you have a new fangled car that alerts you to low pressure and now safe to travel. My vehicle is a 2003 so I need to look and use a valve test to find out mine.
ReplyDeleteSay what? It is Sue who needs watching over? Guess you're the 'little miss goodie two shoes'. Truth be told you probably egg each other on to stop at all the antique shops along the route there and home.
Looking forward to your photos when you arrive back home.
Your bunny mat is looking adorable. What's the fun of going to a class/workshop without coming home with some wool?? Not having time to go through your wools and packing any sounds like a perfect excuse for buying some! Have fun...safe travels - so glad you got the tire issue resolved. Hmmm...I don't think I'd know I have a tire issue unless my tire went completely flat. And my son is a mechanic. ~Robin~ (And, yeah...you aren't called "GT" for nothing...of course it's Sue who is the trouble-maker.)
ReplyDeleteYour bunny is sweet. I am sure you will have a great time! Glad you got your tires fixed. I had new tires put on last fall and my light kept coming on. They could not figure out why as my tires were not low. Just when I was going to take it in for them to hook to the computer it didn't happen again.

I had a valve problem one. The tire place replaced it free for me which was so very nice. The bunny mat is something I should hook since I love bunnies. Thanks for sharing the link. Have fun too! Janice
ReplyDeleteHave a great time! What fun is a road trip with a buddy who behaves themselves. I always say I'm not going to buy anything but when the opportunity presents and there's no shipping, I misbehave.
