Penny Marshall (of Laverne & Shirley fame) was a rug hooker and hooked rug collector. Here is a great article written by Kathy Wright. Kathy is the director at Rug Hooking Week at Sauder Village and the co-author of several books pertaining to rug hooking. Enjoy!
Thanks so much for stopping by.

I enjoyed that article as well. And if you recall I previously posted a few of the rugs she owned which were being offered for sale at auction.
ReplyDeleteTFS GT! Fascinating article....I never realized what a diverse and interesting person Penny was. ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteThanks for this, Lauren. I enjoyed this post very much and learned a lot about Penny Marshall. What an extraordinary woman and what a grandiose collection of sports memorabilia she collected. I also enjoyed looking at her rug collection.
ReplyDeleteI had a chuckle about the description of how it is to live with a rug hooker, lol...
And now I have to return to whipping my Mother of the Street.
Enjoy the new week.
Hugs, Julia
Loved reading this and never knew this about Penny. I so did love her and her brother in Hocus Pocus! She collected some nice rugs. I am sure whomever has them now paid a pretty penny for them. No pun intended. Janice
