It's Christmas Eve Eve! We are at a balmy -3* here in northern Ohio with 32 mph winds, making it feel like -29*. I know others are much colder 😢 My sister lives in Mobile, Alabama, and she said it is 21* there. Their homes are not insulated so it is impossible to keep the house warm.
The pumpkin rolls are baked (4 of them) but not yet stuffed. That is a tradition I would gladly forego, and somehow it became tradition for my son to give them to a couple of his friends when he comes to town. Still hoping and praying his flight is not delayed/cancelled.
To unknown commenter . . . that sweet little Santa I cross stitched can be purchased as a digital download from Pineberry Lane. I LOVE digital patterns.
More pictures from around the house.

Lovely, as always. I hope your son gets home safely. Have a very, Merry Christmas 🎄
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea to display your deer! just loving all of your Christmas decor. So festive and wonderful! The wind has been blowing so hard here. We lost power at the stores, and am hoping we dont lose it at home. If we do we do have our fireplace and are prepared. Merry Christmas Eve Eve my friend! Janice
ReplyDeleteHope your son makes it home !!! Just crazy weather across the country ! Stay warm & cozy inside !!!! Have a Wonderful Christmas !!!
ReplyDeleteLove your santa tree, your snowmen and don't think I've ever seen those stacked boxes on top of your dry sink before ~ love your herd of deer on them all lined up. Is he supposed to arrive tomorrow?
ReplyDeleteDear Lauren, as always everything is wonderful! I really liked your tip the other day of packing each room of Christmas decorations in their own box. I spent forever running up and down the stairs for just one item. And I am quite slow,. I love your vintage deer collection, My mother left me some of those and I have continued the collection. Merry Christmas! Melinda
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so festive. I love your collections of snowmen, Santas, reindeer, and even the lone Canada goose on the stack of boxes and I love that Gare antique Santa that your mother made for you. I poured so many of those Santas from my ceramic molds I think I have one upstairs that I haven't painted yet. I like how you display everything.
ReplyDeleteI sure hope your son makes it home and that he can share the pumpkin rolls with his friends. So many flights are canceled here in Canada and are stranded at airports everywhere. I can imagine the stress you are under waiting to see if he'll make it home. Nicole used to get stranded most every time she flew to and fro from overseas at Christmas.
We are having heavy rain and wind here and it is 35.6 degrees F. I feel for the people of Alabama, especially those with little children.
I'm thinking of Molly having to go out to pee.
Merry Christmas Eve Eve.
Hugs, Julia
We have not had the deep plunge yet we are still getting very high winds and driving rain. The 5 miles home tonight was a slow go as it was raining so hard my wipers could not keep up.
ReplyDeleteI love your decorations but then you know that. I have never made a pumpkin roll.
sending prayers that your son makes it safe and sound.
Merry Christmas
Cathy
Yes it is cold here too and up to 60 knot winds, lots of branches are coming down, luckily not in our yard. Love all your decorations, someone just sent me a June McKenna Santa, and I do have one I carved and one I painted, years ago, but not really my thing, I am more into snowmen and creches and christmas trees, lol. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas.

Your decorations are lovely.
ReplyDeleteI know houses in the south don't normally need insulation for heating, but you'd think they'd insulate for air conditioning costs? Or is it mostly older homes not insulated? I remember up here many houses built before the 1970s were poorly insulated.
Hope your son gets there safely and the pumpkin rolls (yum!) turn out well!
Thanks for the info on Pineberry Lane! I'm not trying to be unknown, just don't know how to let you know who I am :). Thank you for sharing all the inspiring pictures.
ReplyDeleteGlad that you have power. Never did a pumpkin roll, probably never will. But I love them! As I continually say, your collection of Christmas and Halloween needs to be in a magazine.
ReplyDeleteYou always have the BEST Christmas decorations....both hand made and vintage! Thank you for sharing!
