Summer solstice is not one of my favorite days. It means the hours of daylight will begin to get shorter 😢 How can we already be approaching the end of June? I know, I know. I often lament how quickly time is passing, but not a darn thing I can do about it except to enjoy and treasure each and every day.
My bags aren't packed, I'm not ready to go. (Remind you of a song from the 70's 😁 ?) Oh, except for the wool . . . the important things, right? Somehow I will get my act together and be ready to head out bright and early tomorrow morning for my Sally Kalin class. It has been weeks since I have pulled any loops so it will feel good to have hook in hand.
Isn't this just too cool? What a labor of love!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

Wow, that was a lot of crocheting and definitely beautiful.
ReplyDeleteNo worries, you always manage to get your s#!t together in the nick of time. Don't forget the hook ~ do I need to send you a picture of one in case you've forgotten what they look like? And do not forget to take plenty of delicious photos to share. I'm down right green with envy.
Well have a fun and I know you always do get packed. Thankfully, we don't notice that the summer solstice changes until about August. Now I think we will start having lots of hot days now. I have been trying to teach myself to crochet. I can't wait to see what fun stuff you do and what fun things you will be doing.
ReplyDeleteHave a blast!
Have a wonderful time!!!! Yes lots of lovely colors.

Test message to see if this one goes into your personal email. But do see you received it in your blog comment section.
ReplyDeleteYour flowers may do well but there certainly isn't any grass growing under your feet. Hope your head doesn't have an ache. Have fun!
ReplyDeleteYou always get to your hooking destination and I bet wild horses couldn't keep you away. I know you'll enjoy yourself.
ReplyDeleteHoly cow! That's a lot of crochet and weaving for seven women. What a novel idea. Aren't women creative? There's a town in Louisianna, where women were inspired by the women of Alahaurin Spain to crochet some street sunscreens also. Thanks for sharing this interesting tidbit. I'm just glad we are not expected to do the same with our rugs.
Finally, we had sunshine and I've been pulling weeds all afternoon. While it rained I got to pull loops as well.
LOL...yes, I know that song well. In fact, (now this will REALLY date me) when I went to college, my little brother who was 11 or 12. For Christmas I bought him 3 LPs (remember those?) as there was a huge record store on State Street where albums were 3 for $10. He liked that song as he had heard it on the radio, so that was one of the albums.... And gee, he went on to become a pretty popular dj at a local radio station. Wow...those screens are amazing! Like Julia said, what a great deal of work for a small number of hands. I thought our (nearest) town was being creative when they strung colorful parasols on the main downtown street...but it was only for a block. Have fun!! Like Saundra, I will be looking forward to photos! ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteWell I hope you are packed by now. Those screens are just amazing. I sure hope the sun does not fade them out too soon. Would love to see in person. Janice
ReplyDeletePacking the wool, tools, and $ for adding to the stash takes careful thought and planning. It doesn't take long to toss the toothbrush and clean underwear in a bag.
ReplyDeleteThat is a very cool street shade, and it goes so well with those buildings. Far better than plain boring awnings would. And thanks for the ear worm. I think.
