I finally have a Granny update for you. I know many of you have seen the start on Saundra's blog, but here it is with a bit of additional hooking done. First a few tidbits of information.
- it measures about 19 1/4" high x 24 1/2" wide
- I am hooking it in 8s and 8 1/2s. My cut of choice is 8 1/2, but for some areas of the rug that just won't work
- there is a total of 15 animals and people ~ my goal is to hook one of them each day and then move on to the tree, flower basket and background as I go along
Here is my progress so far. Five days (not counting today), five motifs.
The wool used for the tree.
And finally the little boy. I have named him Ralphie because he reminds me of Ralphie in the movie A Christmas story. Remember him in his snowsuit? Yes, the figure will always be Ralphie to me ๐
Thank you for joining me on this journey that Saundra created.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

That wool you chose for the tree is perfect. And I think your Ralphie is the sweetest boy ever. When not hooking on this one have you been able to pull a few loops on Jack too?
ReplyDeleteLove it! Your Ralphie is perfect! Wish I knew how to hook as this would be one I’d like to do!
ReplyDeleteLove your colors & that tree looks great ! Oh , I Love Ralphie too !!! One of my favorite Cmas movies !!! Your design is wonderful too !
ReplyDeleteYour hooking is perfection. I like that you're showing us the wool you chose to hook the tree. Plaid always looks so different when hooked. Both your tree and the little Ralphie are so neatly hooked. Why are you limiting yourself to hooking one character a day and making us languish with curiosity for so long?
ReplyDeleteI was supposed to dye wool today but my plan got sidetracked.
Hugs,
Julia
Ha ha...Ralphie...Love it. Maybe you could hook him some bunny ears too. (They'd be easier than glasses, ya know.) I LOVE your tree!!! EEEEK. I want some of that wool!! (For my non-existent stash....) ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteWe watch that movie every year. Bob posted a picture on Facebook of him (Ralphie) and said Don't shoot your eye out and he was put in Facebook jail...he could not post for 2 weeks. I just read Robin's comment...yes bunny ears and a pink outfit. LOL I also have that same wool that you used for the tree. Never used it yet, but liked it when I bought it. Now I know to use it for a tree. Thanks! Janice
