Slooooow Hooking ~

Welcome, dear blog friends ๐Ÿ˜‡  I hope today finds you all well . . . happy and healthy.  It's hard to believe only a few more days until the new year.  This is the week I get to kick back and enjoy after the craziness of getting ready for Christmas.

I have pulled a few loops . . . very few.  Why is it sometimes so difficult to hook a rug?  This is such a simple design but I have been working on it for a month or more.  Soon I will have only background left to do.  It will be a relief to finish this so I can get back to hooking Ole Jack.  I thought both would be finished by year's end, but it's not looking promising.

More Christmas decorations.  Pretty much the same as last year so you are welcome to skip the rest of this post ๐Ÿ˜

I just love my tinsel trees, but they are so hard to photograph.  This one is decorated with all vintage balls.

Angel tree topper a gift from Saundra a number of years ago.  Simply beautiful . . . and extra special since made by her.

My patriotic display on the little landing leading to the second floor.

The reflection of the tinsel tree on the glass.

A few of my favorite red, white and blue ornaments.

I LOVE this snowpeep.

Uncle Sam nutcracker dated 1988.

Thankfully my Las Vegas son is on the mend.  He tested positive for Covid a few days ago . . . and yes, he was vaxxed.  Happy that his symptoms were rather mild.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs ๐Ÿ˜Š

  1. I love all your decorations and I never get tired of looking at all of them especially since I didn't put up any decorations this year. Keep on showing your Christmas decor. I do appreciate it. You hook all year so you can afford to take a little break during the Holidays.

I was going to do some wool dyeing today but realized, deh! I forgot to put wool to soak yesterday so I put some to soak a while ago and hopefully will do some dyeing tomorrow.

It's snowing now and it looks like Christmas and George just came in and said it was slippery outside so I'm staying in.

    Take care,
    Hugs,
    Julia

  4. Actually I opened your blog in the early afternoon then received an important call which delayed me. Fast forward several hours and I'm now just reading it thru. I love your patriotic ornaments and am humbled that you gave me such a great review of my primitive handmade angel. Thank you Lauren. Merry Christmas.

  6. Oh how I love that angel topper!! The expression is just priceless. And a landing??! Gah!! What I would do for a LANDING!!! And yours has a window!! And enough room for a cabinet! Good thing green is a color still appropriate to the season. (Love the reflection of the tinsel tree in the wall cabinet too...) You probably didn't get so much hooking done because perfection can be pretty dang time-consuming. Yikes woman...I'm gonna have to disown you as a sister. You make me look badder than I already look. I took advantage of a few hours' break between snow/ice storms, convinced Snowdog he could manage getting in the truck with lots of help, herded two wily cats and headed north(er). I made it here just before the next round began, but did not have time to get to the grocery store before leaving (thanks to prior storms) or after getting here so meals (ha! that term is used very loosely...let's say "food") will, indeed, be "interesting." But I build a darn good fire and, gee, I have wine. ~Robin~

  9. That is good news indeed, that your son was only mildly sick. Will COVID never end and just leave us poor humans in peace? I love the photos you shared. I agree, it is so hard to take photos of tinsel trees. The sparkle and shine of them rarely makes it onto the photograph for some reason! But your photos look so pretty.

  10. Cases are up but I had to search to find that hospitalizations are down. I assume the omicron and vaxed breakthroughs are not as serious but keep the numbers up. We still have deaths here. Everyone will soon be loaded with antibodies, one way or another!!

  11. Love that rug and the colors you are using. I am getting tempted to hook again, a few areas that could use a nice hooked mat.
Your decorations are wonderful and you have a nice collection of Santas. It is nice to have a break after all the Christmas craziness.
