Another Sauder Feature Exhibit was devoted to the Women's Vote Centennial. What a variety of rugs!
A few examples of rugs with braiding.
Punch needle was also an exhibit this year. I believe it was the first time.
I think this about sums up 2020 . . . though 2021 may not end up much better 😖
By the time I finish sharing Sauder rugs, you will be sick of seeing them!
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

Lauren, I think this is the most interesting rug show I've ever seen. So much talent and creativity. We are so fortunate to have you bring us all those beautiful rugs of every description. Every year, so many talented artists inspire rug hookers.
ReplyDeleteI'm really grateful that you take the time each year to take all these photos and share them with us. I can never get tired of them. I've even gone back several times to your blog just to look at them again and again.
I'm looking forward to seeing more. Bring 'em on.
Hugs,
Julia
More gorgeous rugs! Especially the 19th Amendment ones... I'm still working on my quilt for that :-/ I started it election day 2020, will it be done for next election??? Stinky is a good choice for 2020 mascot. The way 2021 is going, I have to wonder what Nancy has picked out this year.
ReplyDeleteGosh that skunk is cute! Faithful son Harry Burn from Tennessee cast the deciding vote to ratify the 19th amendment giving women the right to vote--a good son who listened to his Mother. I have a cross stitch for this event I need to finish.
ReplyDeleteNo way we will be sick of seeing Sauder rug displays; In the words of Julia "bring 'em on"
ReplyDeleteThese rugs are just amazing & beautiful ! I agree with Julia & Saundra ...show us more !!!! Just unbelievable talent !!!
ReplyDeleteAnd The Skunk !!! Gotta Love that !!!!
I am never sick of seeing them. I love all of the talent.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a great week.
SKUNKIE is my fave rug but the hens and their protest banner are a close second! Loved seeing the rugs! And the punch needle, I used to do that oh, fifty years ago now!
ReplyDeleteNo, no, NO!! I will NOT ever tire of these photos (tired of cleaning my keyboard of drool, maybe). These are things...and techniques...I've never seen before, nor likely ever will. I think my favorites are Ami Mali Hicks (such a wonderful and unexpected mix of mediums!), Sojourner Truth (those sunflowers!!!!! Gah!!), and of course the 2020 Mascot LOL. She is going to have to come up with a twin...or a baby...for 2021. No wait...a variant! ;-) ~et~
ReplyDeleteI’m definitely going to have to start following some of these blogs, and I’m absolutely loving them so far.
