~ God Bless America ~

~ LAND THAT I LOVE ~

I am thankful each and every day that I was born in this great Land of ours where we have our freedoms.  Let's not take them for granted.

It has sounded like a war zone in the city for weeks.  So ironic because there are many fireworks stores (and would you believe during the Covid lockdowns they were considered an "essential business" so remained open when the mom and pop establishments had to close?  WTH???)  yet it is illegal to shoot them off.  Does that make any sense whatsoever?  When you purchase them, you must sign a statement that you will not shoot them off in Ohio.  I think if you looked up "absurd" in the dictionary you would find that law.

Enjoy, my friends, in however you choose to celebrate the day.  Please pray that we may always enjoy the freedoms we have ~ that they may never be taken away.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

  1. Oh, the stars n stripes pugs are so adorable! Patriotic Pugs, no one can ask for more! And you are so right, we must cherish and defend our land! There is none like it in the entire world! That is very strange about your fireworks ordinances - kind of an honor system when they must know it will be ignored and the popping will start right away!

  4. I remember what freedom felt like a while back. We didn't need a passport to go over the border in the USA and it was wonderful and we didn't have many restrictions except the age of drinking, and it was for a good reason.
We didn't have to be politically correct all the time and we had freedom of speech. We could go fishing without a license. Prayers were allowed before a public meeting and in school. Our freedom is being eroded little by little.

Lauren, you are such a great patriot and you are to be commended. You are so right about the absurdity of your firework ordinance. It doesn't make sense to me.

I hope that you had a great 4th of July. It rained today and has been cold. I was inside all day.
    Hugs, Julia

  5. That fireworks sale in Ohio is a laugh. Julia stated about a few of the freedoms we Americans are losing which I glossed over on my blog. It IS happening and America was almost great again except we got hornswoggled.

  7. Love the pugs!!!Our little town was so loud and smelly last nite from fireworks going off, you could hardly breath... We know no one from Ohio would break the law that way so those guys from Michigan must have sneaked into town :)..

  8. Hope you had a wonderful holiday. I echo your sentiments about freedom and common sense. It seems as though both are being eroded.

  10. Ahh sounds like Nashville--no you may not sell or shoot fireworks in Davidson County. However. . . just across the county line are the biggest fireworks tents in the state. And the city started the fireworks show at 9:00 and it lasted for two and one half hours! They had extra fireworks left over from 2020 and bragged to the entire country they had the largest display of fireworks in the nation and are already making plans for 2022. Never mind there was a 35% property tax increase--we need that money so we can blow it up!
