I did one pot of dyeing wool with goldenrod.

A beautiful, subtle change in color.
So many of you have commented about how productive I am. Right now, it is my coping mechanism. I wish I had that ambition to do house projects, wash windows, etc. Sadly none of that is happening. I have tried to hire someone to level my front sidewalk and replace a picket fence. Most people will not even return phone calls and those who have responded have been less than helpful . . . other than one estimate on my sidewalk that was outrageous 😟
Cute cartoon! Our covid cases are rising again. UGH Love the new muted colors of your latest dye batch. Janice
ReplyDeleteHappy story--just this evening Nate, our neighborhood handy man stopped by asking if I had any jobs which needed to be done before cold weather. Yes, power washing and trimming the holly. Nate does wonderful work and is totally trustworthy. Am so blessed to know there are still good decent people. Your cartoon gave me a good chuckle.
ReplyDelete...the new order I guess. No one wants to work. No wonder socialism is gaining popularity. Sorry...that popped out...lost my filter somewhere and can't seem to locate it...but you probably know that already LOL. We have the same problem.... Makes you wonder what it will all come to. Every place you go (well, to the extent we can "go" anywhere really with a 75% lockdown order by our governor), has signs saying "hiring" for both skilled and unskilled labor. Scary. ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteYour dyeing job is lovely. They fit together so well.
ReplyDeleteI appreciate the cartoon about those darn masks. I had to sing with a mask on at church last Saturday evening and since of Covid, I'm the only one allowed to sing at the mike as we are not allowed a choir. I just hope that my words were not misunderstood, lol...
Stay safe and keep on hooking and dyeing wool.
Hugs, Julia
Dying with plants is harder than we think. I did a class on it and you do not get the deep color you do with commercial dye. I have been cleaning out and changing rooms etc not sure what I will do if I ever come to the end of it, start all over again??? and I am working 4 days a week.
ReplyDeleteHere if you want some work done get in line. Most trades people here are a year or more out.
We are having an on demand generator installed thankfully husband can do the bulk of the work and we found an electrician that will work with us (you would not believe what some of the estimates were) But the generator is 12 weeks out!! I am sure with the shut downs and the storms in the south that is the issue.
Hang in there Lauren
