Monday Update ~

I had a productive week, me thinks.  I have been making an effort to spend more time on my projects.  It helps that yard work is winding down a bit, though since we've gotten rain, the yard needs to be mowed more often.

Primitive Gobblerbind - label

Jack's Crow - bind - label

Santa - hook - bind - label

Scaredy Catpattern to linen - hook - bind - label

Pumpkin for wood boxpattern to linen - hook - bind - label

Acorns - pattern to linen - hook - sew on backing and lightly stuff

Hand torn pumpkinspatterns to linen - hook - patchwork back

Horse mat - applique

5" pumpkin - applique

RLS pumpkin - find kit (!) - applique

Here are the week's accomplishments.

I only have the face left to hook on Santa and I have been avoiding it for days.  Maybe it's just a mental thing, but I find primitive faces intimidating.  (Heaven forbid I would ever hook a realistic one!)

I finished hooking Scaredy Cat.  The cat is hooked antigodlin style (higgly piggly), not my favorite way to hook, but I do like the end result.

Two pumpkins with hand torn strips were hooked.

The horse mat is done.  I made this to use as a hooking frame cover.  I'm not real happy with it.  I don't care for the color of the horse and I still have problems blanket stitching points.  I know, we are our own worst critic . . . lol.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊

  1. Wow you have been productive! I love your scaredy cat, and the santa is looking good!I sure wish I lived close to some rug hookers so I could learn how to do it better! I really enjoy your blog even though I don't comment often, it is very inspiring!!

  2. Your list is getting shorter and you got a lot of work done.
Your pieces are beautiful including your horse applique. It feels like fall is upon us already... and so much more comfortable to sleep.

I need to get some yard work done but somehow I don't know where to begin. I need to dig out the potatoes. My husband is almost done with putting his hay away. All the cutting is finally done. It's been a very busy season.

  4. Whoa....slow down girl!! We're not even half way through the month and your list is being whittled down to nothing! Productive?? I'd say "overachiever" would be a better word choice. ;-) LOVE Scaredy Cat!!! EEEK!! And you know I have always loved your hand torn pumpkins!! Ok....almost every stinking thing you do I love. And sigh....I have not touched a hook or a needle in weeks. Have a good new week. ~Robin~

  6. Scaredy Cat is so cute. Really want to get around to hooking that one. Do you think if you used some antiquing spray or coffee dye on your pony you would be happier? I think aging him a bit would look good. Of course, he’s prettydRned cute as is.

  7. Wonderful projects all. Santa's clothing shows darker hooked than I thought it would be, still nice but thought it would be a tad lighter with the blue. You've really revved your engine gal, lots accomplished.

  10. Look at you! An organized list of tasks to check off. I like that, but I would somehow misplace it.

Can you dab some dye in spots on the horse or speckle all over if you don't like him?
