Primitive Gobbler ~

The official name of my 1847 Turkey is Primitive Gobbler.  I’ve made progress, but I thought I would have been done by now.  Since I am not fond of hooking letters or numbers, I am leaving that for last.

My naked ladies, aka resurrection lilies (Amaryllis Belladonna), bloomed prolifically this year.  This is my largest clump but I have many smaller clumps and even dug up some bulbs for a friend.

I know my blog friends in Arizona and California along with my son in Las Vegas have sweltering temperatures, but today in northern Ohio it is a beautiful day in the low 70’s.  The heat will be returning but what a delightful few days we have had.  It is so good to have the windows open enjoying the fresh air.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs 😊
Lauren

  3. Like we needed further affirmation that we're twins??? Why I chose to hook a honking big rug with tons of words/letters is beyond me. And, yeah...1/2 hr sounds about right. ;-) Your Primitive Gobbler is looking fantastic!! You really have a gift with colors. We too have had an amazing stretch of perfect weather....although now we could do with a bit of rain. Leaves are turning...and a few (ok...a bit more than a "few" today) are falling. Not ready to kiss summer goodbye yet...and I do hope we have a good fall...(yeah, I know...I get greedy right away)....we were cheated last year. The leaves turned half-heartedly and were gone in a matter of a couple of days. ~Robin~

  5. That turkey rug has long been on my list of rugs to hook. I keep thinking THIS is the year. Apparently not!
    Love yours. Beautifully done.

  7. Cute pun on the wine. Your turkey is looking good, I actually don't mind letters and don't go to the trouble of hooking a strip in first, pulling it out then using the 'real' wool. I do it once and it stays.

  8. I really, really love your colors. I love that rug too. There is just something about turkeys. So are your beautiful flowers. What a lovely bunch. I am so glad you have cooler weather. It has been pretty warm. But all in all this summer hasn't been as bad as some summers in years past. We have to have a little hot weather. I am so glad you have got to open your windows. That sounds like bliss.

  10. I love the rug. I paid an insane amount of money for the booklet with the oop pattern and have never made it. You have reminded me, I need to go find it. It's been nice weather here also, but is heating up again for the weekend and next week. Fall and winter can't come soon enough! Melinda
