THE GOOD ~
We are okay.
THE BAD ~
We never made it here.
THE UGLY ~
The helmet was not knocked off. DSO put his there. |
Not 10 minutes after we left my son's house, this happened. Stopped at a red light, we (red bike) were rear ended by a Ford Explorer and sent crashing in to my son's bike. Never even made it to the highway. We all spent several hours in the ER. They sent us to a trauma hospital, I'm pretty sure because of our ages (67 and 76) . . . lol. Today we are still sore and a bit bruised but so very thankful. It could have been much, much worse.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)

Oh, my sweet friend. Ouch, ouch. I'm so sorry about this nasty accident but so thankful you are all OK. You re right, it could have been much, much worst and I dare not think of it. I'm sorry you didn't even get to get to your destination. At our age, we don't bounce back so easily either.
ReplyDeleteI hope the bikes can be repaired or replaced. I would be very hesitant to get back on the bike, but knowing you, cowgirl, you'll probably try that trip again.
Speedy recovery to all of you.
Hugs, Julia
Oh my goodness, that is so scary and I am so glad you are all okay.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I will not drive in anything smaller than a Jeep, I like a lot of metal between me and other cars.
Debbie
Sorry about all the errors, I'm in a rush.

ReplyDeleteOh My!! So very thankful you all are ok! Yes, could have been much worse. Disappointing I’m sure to miss your trip. Hoping your are on the mend & will not be feeling this for days! PS, good to see you at Sauder just a couple days before this happened!
ReplyDeleteOne thing for sure thank god everyone is ok and a blessing that all of you walked away with bumps and bruises plenty of time to think on another trip.....but one thing thankful, if it had to happen thank goodness close to home, not somewhere you’re unfamiliar with and or in a location that emergency took longer to get to.......god is good........many prayers ....thinking of you....

Lauren, I am so glad you and loved ones are alive and without serious injury. That accident site looks terrible.

Oh Lauren, how lucky you all are to be able to walk away from that crash! Hope you all are recovering and will feel good as new very soon. Rest up for your visit to Franklin...you're going to love it!
ReplyDeleteTake good care,
Robyn
You definitely were being watched over as that could have ended in a far different scenario. Question to you is.... will you get on a motorcycle again?
ReplyDeleteOh no! I'm glad it wasn't worse and no one hurt, other than being shaken up and sore. Now comes the pain of dealing with insurance companies and damages. I hope the driver that ran into you got a ticket, or two.
ReplyDeleteWow , so scary ...thank goodness you are all ok ….take care
ReplyDeleteThank goodness you are both ok!!!! So scary! Hope you are both recovering well. Take it easy!

ReplyDeleteVery thankful that you are all okay. Having been an ER Nurse for many years, I can only say that you were really blessed. The Falls would look pretty good from a car.
ReplyDeleteSweet Mercy! So glad you all were spared any serious injuries Lauren. Thinking of you...
ReplyDeleteGlad you're okay, Lauren. Hope those bumps and bruises heal quickly.
ReplyDeleteOh Lauren....ok, I'm going to say it. When I read you were going on a trip by motorcycle, I got a shiver up my spine & wanted to say no, don't do it. None of my business, don't be a wet blanket, don't be a mother, lots of people ride bikes all the time and nothing happens but that hasn't been my experience. I rode with my boyfriend & his friends when I was a teenager into my 20's. Every single one of them was hit by another car, slid on gravel, cut off by another car & lost control etc. My boyfriend (ex husband) was forced into the guardrail on the Verrazano Bridge & survived but w/a damaged kidney & 40 stitches across his back leg. Another friend was hit by a drunk doctor who ran a stop sign, he still walks with a cane. My son's godfather slid on gravel, just 21 years old, knocked out all his teeth. His girlfriend was on the back, a former model ended up under a car, road rash did in her modeling career. Most recently, my son's best friend who had no parents & was being raised by his grandmother. Possibly the sweetest kid I ever met and I loved him like another son, just 20 years old. Grandma bought him a motorcycle. My son has his name & date he died tattooed on his arm. He was in my driveway just 2 days before & I wagged my finger in his face, get rid of it, it's just a matter of time before something happens. I can still see him laughing, reassuring me he'd be ok. The driver turned right into him and he died on her front lawn. I'm old now so I have trouble keeping my opinions to myself, here goes: please Lauren, please....sell the bike, buy more wool, drive a convertible red Mustang, anything, just don't get on the bike again. You were so lucky this time and it doesn't matter how safely you drive that bike, it's the people in cars who are dangerous. They just don't seem to be able to see/judge distance of the bikes. OK, that's all I'm going to say except thank God you and your husband and son are ok. There was definitely an angel on your shoulder.... And feel free to tell me to mind my own business as one pug mom to another.
ReplyDeleteHoly crap Lauren!!! That is so scary!!! Very relieved to hear that everyone is ok. Deep breaths and prayers...hugs, Sharon
