I finished the binding on Pearl and Earl.
I thought I would really be on the ball and sew on the label I printed off a couple weeks ago. Well, I've looked high and low and it is nowhere to be found :( However, in looking for Pearl & Earl's label, I did find these I have printed over the years and never sewed on.
My goal for May is to sew on labels. I've gotten three done. Here they are before staining with coffee . . .

Here is where I shared how I make my labels. If you want to make really cool labels, check out how Saundra makes hers here.
I recently saw a milk glass dish like this somewhere on Facebook. I stumbled upon one for only $5 so it had to come home with me. It is perfect for holding scissors, hooks and this pin cushion made by dear friend Julia in South Carolina. It looks like it was made for this dish.
We finally had a dry, sunny day today so a little yard work was done, but oh, boy, there is much more to do. My yard is small, but I have lots of flower beds that need my attention. It will get done . . . eventually . . . but I get a little antsy to get the initial clean up finished.
Thanks so much for stopping by.

I have no information at all on my sampler backs and it's way too late to start. No idea when they were stitched. Your labels are great and I will check the link you provided. That $5 find is a steal and so perfect for your tools.
ReplyDeleteYour labels are so neatly done. I don't have any labels for my rugs but they are documented in my blog
ReplyDeleteI love that little dish. I like that when something comes together like that as if it was just meant to be.
It's been a really beautiful day today but I worked at cutting pies for our church supper all afternoon. I'll clean a bit in the yard tomorrow.
Have a great week.
Hugs, Julia
Love your rug, beautiful wool textures and colors. The milk dish is a fun idea for tools, I have see them all the time and never thought to use them for tools and cushions.

Hi Lauren,
ReplyDeleteSo nice to be blogging again!!! Always love to read your posts and see what you are up to!!
I found a dish like that years back and did't buy it! Have regretted it ever since I saw how someone had used it like yours and continue to look for one! Maybe I will find one someday!!
Your rug is a beauty and I love your labels, too! You and Saundra both make such nice ones! Thanks for the link! Hope you find the necessary time to get your yard work done!
Happy spring, my friend!!
Heart Hugs~

Great use of the milk glass dish...I think I have one somewhere here that I'm going to have to pull out and use! :-)
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever labeled any of my rugs....and most of them have been sold....lol!
I had one of those milk glass dishes and donated it years ago that will teach me. lol
ReplyDeleteI need to be better about labels thanks for the info again

You know what? I have a pink depression glass stand, I should use that for a caddie.
ReplyDeleteI love your labels. I need to finish a rug so I can put one on my rug.
Your rug is just lovely.
The milk glass piece is a candy dish...and I am still trying to find one to hold scissors too! Love how make your labels and I so love the muted stained look. Janice
ReplyDeleteYou have a GREAT way of making your sista feel all kinds of guilt, ya know??? I bookmarked your link (a few years back?) of your labels....and then it slipped my porous mind.... And, gee, I just dug out the largest rug I ever hooked and was going to post some photos of it, but have completely spaced whose pattern it is....??? I can picture the book it is in, but that’s it...and the book is still packed away...someplace. Never thought about labels at that point in time...and LOL, I actually had some labels custom made for Cathy years and years ago.... Unfortunately, all they said was “Hooked by Cathy Stephan” or something like that.... Duh. LOVE your Pearl and Earl to pieces....great finish my friend.... You are becoming such and expert hooker.... ~Robin~
ReplyDeleteLabels are a task that I need to entertain as well. Love the little milk glass dish. Great find! I have been in the yard several days in the past week. Temps in the high 80s.
