Puleeze ~

Just a quick hello before I finish packing for rug camp.  Yes, I leave in just a few hours, but before then am having son and grandson over for lunch.  I guess I will never learn to pack ahead.

Yesterday a hook in was held in Ann Arbor, MI, at the Washtenaw Community College.  Always a top notch event, this year did not disappoint.  But really?  Political correctness has gone too far.  There was a men's restroom and next to it was this restroom which obviously used to be the women's.  At first glance, I thought it was the typical family restroom, but check  it out.  Do I really want to be sharing the restroom with a man?  I think not.  The men had their own and I would like the same.  'Nuff said.

A few pictures of our booth.

Sweet bracelets, some of them made from old suspender buttons.

Necklaces made from the tiniest of quillies.

A sampling of rugs from the show.

Must get packing.
Thanks so much for stopping.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

  1. I am so tired of all of the political correctness too. I just would like it to go back to just normal. I had a indecent in the grocery store because I was using plastic bags instead of cloth.
I love your table and I love all of the things you make. Gosh I would love to go to a place where you are vending.
Lovely rugs too. Have wonderful time at rug camp.

  2. Wow! some of those rugs are really detailed. Must be hooked with very narrow cuts to have so many details. All the rugs are amazing and I really like the Americana rooster rug. He's got character... I hope you did well at this sale.

I hope that this washroom is a single unit and not a large enclosed area where anybody could all be in there together. I hope you had a great time at rug camp.
    Hugs, Julia

  3. Frankly it wasn't 'enough said' and think people should revolt. I'm sick to death of the political correctness bull and this model engine doesn't have replacement parts for that.

Hope you have a grand time at camp.

  8. 1. The restroom is outrageous. What is our nation thinking! Or maybe I should say we aren't thinking.

  9. Oh my! The gypsy mice and the one with the rabbit! Wow! Such detail! I would absolutely LOVE to attend the show....one day....when I retire.... ;-)
I agree...I want a restroom that is just for women....where else will be able to do our "girl stuff"....whether it's panyhose, or bras or "other stuff"... why take away OUR right of privacy? Drives me nuts!

  10. Hope to NEVER see a bathroom sign like that even though I do live in Michigan. The rugs are awesome. So much love it took to make each and every one. Amazing talent. Janice

  11. Those rugs are amazing...all of them...but the gypsy mice and rabbit ones steal the show in my book (but I love, love, the Halloween owl too LOL). Beautiful offerings as always....but I am drooling over that quilled heart, Do you do the quilling or is that Melissa’s beautiful work? Hope you have a great time at camp....and packing’s overrated. ;-). But wowsers on the bathroom thing.... If it were me, I’d be making an official complaint. That is just all kinds of wrong. ~Robin~

  12. I agree with Cranky Crow - I would be making a formal complaint to the administrator of the facility or the city if city owned. WHY would men get an exclusive bathroom but women have to share with anyone who wanders in. AAAACCKKK - bathrooms are getting scary these days. The rugs in the exhibit were awesome - so much variety and yes Sibyl's rugs are always masterpieces. She is an amazing artisan as are you my friend. So talented with all you do. Glad to see you stitching that prim sampler and who cares how long it takes, it's the journey right!
believe me - I "journey" a lot ! hope rug camp was just marvelous Mel

  14. Those rugs are gorgeous, thanks for sharing them.

I don't mind the sign itself so much, as - Why is it only on what was the women's restroom?!?!? I mean good grief - even when there are only traditional men's/women's restrooms, it seems the women's is usually much busier, without shifting even more traffic to them.
