Wool "Feather" Tree ~

To those considering a tinsel tree (Kim, Mel and Jennie), I am most happy to be an enabler :)  As Marly pointed out, it can be ordered online, too.

Many years ago (10+) Joanne who blogged at Snippets & Scraps of My Mind, sent me all the pieces parts to make a wool feather tree.  Since then I've looked up directions and purchased additional directions, but never made one.  I finally took a class yesterday from Connie at Wool Yankers in Wellington.  Here it is at long last.  Thanks to Connie who helped me wrap some of the branches so I could finish it.  I don't know why I had so many problems figuring out the branch placement.  I really felt like the class flunkie . . . sigh.  All I need to do now is stain the base.

Crazy day tomorrow.  Grocery store, baking pumpkin rolls, getting grandson for a haircut plus all the normal every day stuff.  I am just thankful I can do it.

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

  4. Your tree is wonderful. I still have the one that Joanne made for me, would love to make some of my own, but too lazy, lol.
I have two days to get ready, just hope I have the energy.

  5. You certainly did a great job on your wool feather tree. I bet you'll be making many more for either gifts or sales.
I'm glad that you finally got a chance to learn from a teacher. I saw a video on how to make a feather tree but I didn't see any on how to make a wool feather tree.

I hope that you have a great day. Stay safe and warm. Hugs, Julia

  6. That large cupboard is beautiful and your other cupboard and shelves are also. Your home looks filled with great pieces and perfect backdrops for your collections. Tree looks good too! I was at Walmart and helped a lady look for the 4' tinsel in gold and they were out already but did have the 6'. Also had ONE box with a primitive feather look in burlap ball for $15!!!

  7. your wool tree looks great Lauren! I know Searsports newsletter is always talking about these wool trees. Apparently they sell precut pieces for them. Glad they never really interested me. I guess I have so little time to actually hook - that is all I really want to do is hook. Wanted to report in that my tinsel tree is being delivered today along with one for my folks too, LOL! talk about hook line and sinker - we'll in !!!!!!!!! If I don't make it back again - I do hope you and your family have a great T-giving holiday. pumpkin rolls sound very interesting??
    take care Mel
