HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY
I'm hoping my next project will use up lots of leftover worms and small pieces of wool. The only wool I will have to cut is for the background. The pattern can be found in the Laurie Simpson and Polly Minick book, The Spirit of Sacagawea.
I have a couple baskets of small wool pieces and lots of worms to do the scrappy border.
Here is the pattern laid out on the dining room table. Instead of 21 crosses, I've enlarged it to 28. As you can see, I use grey window screen to transfer my patterns.
The pattern without the outer border drawn is already 22 1'2" x 38" so it's another biggie. I probably will not hook it start to finish since I have 2 classes in March where I will be starting new rugs. This should be pretty much a no brainer but the hard part will be keeping all the crosses in line.
Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren
looks like fun...let me know if you need more worms...
ReplyDeleteThis is going to be beautiful!
ReplyDeleteGreat transfer method.

I applaud your energy in tackling a big rug. I have yet to go that big. Will enjoy seeing your progress.
ReplyDeleteLove the pattern...and I bet your color plan will be amazing as always.... I have a little applique diddy, and a few cross stitch tucks to finish finishing, and then I hope to resurrect a few hooking projects.... Will keep ya posted!! Happy Valentine's Day my friend!! Smiles & Hugs ~ Robin
ReplyDeleteHappy Valentine's Day. Design looks good. All the best for your next project to get completed.
ReplyDeleteHi Lauren,
ReplyDeleteThat looks like such a fun rug and will certainly use up those worms!! Sounds like you have lots of fun times lined up to keep you busy!!
Enjoy your week!
Heart Hugs~

wonderful colors! that rug will use up a lot of your bits and pieces.
ReplyDeleteWe are in the middle of another storm ick so I guess I will have time to hook tonight after work.
Cathy
I'll look forward to seeing your progress on this one, Lauren! Lori
ReplyDeleteWill enjoy watching the rug grow. It really is nice to have a 'filler' project with a no brainer to work on between projects or to take to camp and work on until the teacher gets to you.
ReplyDeleteThat's a perfect project to use up those extra wool worms. You'll be able to enjoy pulling hoops without pulling your hair.
ReplyDeleteI'm almost done with hooking my deworming challenge rug.
I hope you had a great day yesterday.
Hugs,
Julia
How cool. I need to draw out something so I can just use worms. I always learn so much. Window screen. What a great idea. I have that book, so I need to go back and look at the patterns. Still walking? I have been sick for must of Feb. But I kept up with the dots. :) I hope to get back at it soon. I am not on antibiotics. Today is the first day I feel human.
ReplyDeleteCan't wait to see it!!
ReplyDeleteGood luck with this new project.Keep us posted on your progress. Janice
ReplyDeletethis is gonna be a good one! (trying to remember if I have that book!) I'm starting to panic - I have a three day workshop with Donna Hrckman NEXT weekend and haven't single clue on what project to work on! ACK!
ReplyDeleteThat's going to be a fun one!
ReplyDeleteI am already loving it and you haven't even started!!!
ReplyDeleteI love it, too! I think that sometimes, it's not the pattern, it's the dance of color! I've made a few quilts that aren't very difficult, but it was all about the color choices. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteLove how this one looks! Your scraps look perfect -- can't wait to see your progress!
ReplyDeleteInteresting to see how your project was started. Such beautiful colors!
