A Little Irony ~

How ironic.  Saundra posted this evening that she just purchased this rug on eBay.

Sitting at the base of my stairs is the version I purchased, also on eBay, maybe 9 or 10 years ago.  It measure 23" x 37" and the loops are perfect but hooked lower than I think I've ever seen.  It is obviously hand hooked and I only paid $25 for it.  I know I got a steal (the wool cost more than that for sure) but there is no label so I have no idea who hooked it or when.  A great reason to label your rugs ~ though I am TERRIBLE at it :(

I finished my eagle.  I have a little linen left below the eagle so I need to hook a couple tiny mats, then I need to get busy finishing.  I think I have about 20 things that need to be "finished" ~ U.G.H.

Little Julie ~ thanks for the visit but you are a "no reply" blogger so I can't answer you personally.  Worms ~ also known as noodles ~ are the wool strips used when hooking.  Most hookers have an over-abundance ~ and they multiply while you are sleeping :)

Thanks so much for stopping by.
Pug hugs :)
Lauren

  3. How ironic is right!!!! I was told by the seller it was a pattern by a certain person and have been informed it is a Quail Hill pattern called the gossips. So not sure who the designer is. Maybe Barb but Quail Hill markets it?

  8. Hi Lauren,
They say, "great minds think alike" so I think that says it all!!! What a sweet rug that both of you own!! Your eagle turned out wonderfully and you have a nice selection! Now if those only those little rug elves would do all the finishing for you while you sleep!!!! If ONLY!!!
Take care and enjoy your week, my friend!

  9. Lauren, thanks for the answer (think I fixed the no reply issue) I adore your rugs, have a special place in my heart for all things crow but it was the name of your blog that really got me, having 3 Pugs myself (and 3 Bassets & if you can believe it, 7 rescues from S. Korea). I have lots of wool, a hook, took a class and am ready to get going. Any tips on how to keep your arms from being ripped apart by the spikes on the frame? :)
